Hi guys and girls! I just found out about this board a few days ago and let me say what an amazing thing. It has helped me out tremendously reading what others are going through that had their surgeries around the same time as mine. I had my surgery on 8/22/07 and came home on 8/23/07 which totally floored me! I mean I was excited, I just didn't expect to come home so soon. Anyway I'm down 31 lbs since surgery as of yesterday. Its not coming off as quickly as I'd like it to but I'm happy with anything. Hey, it's coming off quicker than if I hadn't had surgery right...? Well I wish us all continued success and plan on being on this board A LOT more. Thanks for the support!

Glad to have you on board. The more the merrier! I had my lap RNY on 8/27. I came home on 8/29. I almost came home the day before, but I started experiencing those wicked gas pains and they had me stay an extra day. I'm down 28 pounds since surgery. I, too, feel like it's a little slower than I would have expected. I saw my doctor the other day and he says I'm right on target and doing fine, but I don't totally believe him. I guess I just have to accept I won't be the fastest loser on the block.

Welcome, Crystal!! Glad to see you here!! Congratulations on your AWESOME results!! I had my surgery on August 2nd and have lost 30 lbs or so since surgery. I think we all expected too much post-op as far as weight loss speed. I was told that normal weight loss post-op would be 10-15 lbs a month on average. I notice everyday how the inches on my body are dropping. I think with us being somewhat in "starvation" mode that our body slows weight loss down to let us build muscle as we go. I've had some complications post-op that have slowed my weight loss down some. I have suffered with a restricted esophagus. I've had it dilated twice and may need to have it done again. I suffered from chest pain and constant "burpy" feelings. I also could NOT get food to go down, sometimes not even water. Everything would come back up. I am in a weakened condition, but am getting stronger now everyday. I hope your surgery went well and you've suffered no complications!! I wouldn't wish complications on my worst enemy (don't have any that I know of LOL). Welcome to OH and God bless!! Brenda
