How many calories are you all getting??
I think i might be eating too much. My weight loss is comparable to those who posted in the Oct 1 weigh in .. but i feel likes its coming off really slow.
35lbs in 7 weeks. OK now that i've typed it up .. it doesn't seem so slow. But i still want to know if im eatting too much.
I tracked my eating on fitday and for a couple of days and the average is 800 calories a day. One day i did go up to 1,100 calories ..should i try not to eat that much?
Isn't 800 calories too few especially after exercise?
I have heard that if we dont' eat enough of calories and protein our weight will be slow coming off, something about our systems goes into starvation mode? And it holds on to our fat. That is just what Ive heard. Mine doesnt seem to be coming off very fast but Im not worrying yet, Im keeping a close eye on it. Wish I could help more.

I average 900 calories/day before exercise - it ranges between 700-1000 depending on the day. Some days I force myself to eat and other days I am ravenously hungry. My doc said aim for 800ish but it depends on your BMI a little bit. Also if you workout a lot you may need to up your calories a little bit in order to lose weight.
Hi Guys...I'm new to this forum. I just noticed that someone wrote about it on the main forum, so I thought I'd check it out. It's nice to have a group of us that had surgery around the same time. But I've got to say now I realize just how slow I'm losing!
Regarding the calories, I get on average 800. Some days it's as low as 600 and other days as much as 1100. To date I've lost 26lbs, which compared to you all isn't much, but I'll take it. My BMI is down to 33 so I'm happy with that.
Hi
I'm lucky if I get 700 in per day. My nuts goal is 1000 to 1200 per day. I just figure I'm doing the best I can. I have tried to consiously increase my calories. I had surgery on 8/28/07. I lost the initial IV fluid weight and then 18 lbs within the first 2 weeks. Since then, my weight has increased slightly (3 lbs). I know I am losing because of how my clothes are fitting. I guess my body is resting because I lost 60 lbs pre-op. I'm trying hard not to get discouraged.
You weight loss sounds really good to me. And you started out with a low BMI.
I am taken in about 700 cal a day, but my protine(spelling) is way too low at 35-40g. I had myself up to 1000 cal and 80g protine but I did not loose any weight.
I use http://www.thedailyplate.com/ to track my diet every day... it is free and it has everything. at about 800 cal I should be loosing 4.5 # a week.
