Boy are we a qiuiet bunch
Is it me, or are we the quietest room in this place?
Either we are too busy enjoying our new skinnier lives or we are just a bunch of "watchers".
We all know we are doing well losing weight. Maybe there are other questions some of you might have on food? What people are eating? Protien people are taking? or some other item of interest?
Anyone????
As far as food I do well on beef--had(Ribeye) steak three times I tenerized and marinated it for a while and it was great was very delicious and did not make me sick, ground round w/ taco seas, or made w/soups, crustless pizza, etc. I like the Dannon light n fit low carb/sugar smoothies 6 grms protein. Omeletts are good, Bushs chili w/ cheese is my fav.
What is everyone else eating?
It does seem that there is not a whole lot of posting going on around here. Hopefully that will change.
I'm struggling a bit with getting in enough food. My weight loss has been slower than I anticipated and I'm starting to wonder if I'm not getting in enough calories. I go to my doctor on Tuesday and I have lots of questions for the nutrionist. About how many calories/protein are you getting in? I do okay with my liquids because it's easier. I am NEVER without a water bottle. I feel like I'm going to get a strange reputation around town (lol). Also, I'm having a rough time with my multivitamin. I've been taking Centrum Chewables, but I cannot gag those things down. I find I've been skipping them more and more (I know, very bad!) Any suggestions for something less chalky and disgusting?

I tried steak from Logan's steakhouse this week- a filet mignon because its the most tender, and I had them butterfly it and cook it to medium. It was fork tender and I stretched it over three meals but it settled fine. I only eat meat that is fork tender, but the only thing I have problems with for meat is cold cuts.
I struggled a lot at first to get enough food and then I learned my pouch prefers small meals more often and if I miss a meal its uncooperative for the rest of the day so I have to stick with liquids. I drink a lot of soy and milk, eat a lot of chicken, salsa, avocado, and whole grain crackers with fat free cream cheese. I also eat Kashi go lean and string cheese. I am dying for a salad. That pretty much covers my regular food. We go out to dinner once a week and I order grilled meat and cooked veggies.
Centrums chewables ARE nasty - I'm trying to finish my bottle too. I suck on them for a while before I chew them up and then I break them up with my front teeth because i can't stand them getting crushed up in the back teeth where the taste sticks around and you have to pick the powder out. Do you know what I mean? Don't skip your vitamins! If you have to, do flintstones until you can take pills. I am taking small pills now but scared to try something as large as a vitamin - maybe if I cut it up into 3 pieces.
Regarding the vitamins, I heard someone say they bought a pill cutter and cut up their chewables so they could swallow them. You might want to try that. I take the Flinstones and I haven't had any problems. I've already started taking other pills like the Citrical petites because the liquid calcium I bought wasn't so good.
As for what I've been eating...there isn't much my pouch doesn't like. I have a protein shake for breakfast or cottage cheese. I have lots of tuna salad. I've made fajitas with the low carb tortillas with steak, onions, cheese, and tomatoes...yum! I have lots of soup...that's always been a favorite for me. Last night it was hot and sour soup. I have sushi without the rice. I've had a super thin crust piece of cheese pizza. Couldn't even finish all of it and it was tiny! But, so good! Salad hasn't been a problem, although I just started that last week and a little goes a long way. I made a salad a the salad bar and normally it would be around $8, now it's about $2.50, nice huh?
I'm having problems getting ANY food down again sighhhhhhh. I see my surgeon again this coming Tuesday for the second endoscopy (dilation of the esophagus) procedure. I had the first one three weeks ago and I did well for the first week or so, then started having troubles again. I hope it works permanently this time!
The things I can get down are yogurt, cottage cheese, and most foods on a good day. I don't have a good day too often lately.
I have a suggestion for vitamins. I take Optisource chewables. They are MUCH better than any of the other ones I've tried. They have a citrus flavor and are soooo much more tolerable than anything else for me. They dissolve quickly and they don't leave a nasty after taste. You can get them from this link:

I wish all of you the greatest journey to health and wellness!! God bless you!

I'm with you. The Optisource Chewable are the bomb. These are so easy to take. I'm not a big fan of Orange taste, but these work. I highly recommend to anyone that has had issues or is having issues getting in the vitamans. I luck out, my local Walgreens carries them in stock with the other multivitamens.
