3 weeks out, feeling better, but struggels as well
Hey everyone,
I am three weeks out and am down 24lbs. I am pretty blown away by that and that is without my waling yet. I was in so much pain the frist two weeks I couldn't walk muc but I have started walking every night now.
I am having a lot of cravings mostly for diet coke that is the worst andit is so hard. I am also having a hard time not comparring myself to everyone else progress. Feeling like I am going slower than some. That is hard too.
Just feeling a litle down and worried I am ot progressing as fast as I should.
Any comments would help.
Love to all
Trish
Trish......You lost 24 pounds already.........That's 8 pounds a week! That's incredible. I had a lap band on August 1st, and I am amazed at how it has affected me mentally. I've lost about 35 pounds since then, and I am feeling great. The only problem now is that I still don't like the way I look. I'm starting to realize all the damage I've done to my body over the years of being obese, and I guess I've been thinking it would all disappear when I lost some weight. Not the case. I'm also experiencing the intense cravings........Boy what I would give to have a HUGE plate of pasta and meatballs! One of the nurse practioners told me "You will stop having intense cravings once you start feeding your soul." I thought that was profound, and it gives me something to think about. Hang in there.........You are doing great, especially walking every night. From my limited experience, it seems what you are feeling is absolutely normal. Keep up the good work......Debbie
I feel the same too but I just keep telling myself "take it one day at a time." I had my surgery on 8/13 and I am down 23lbs but i dont see it. sometimes i feel i aint losing nothing. oh i just wish for a sandwhich..but im doing ok with food, sometimes i am not even hungry..just want to focus on exercising. Just pray for the day I can start running around with my daughter. Keep strong and have faith!
Enjoy the rest of the week, Maribel
I had surgery 8/14/07...HEAD HUNGER IS WAY STRONGER THEN I EVER GAVE IT CREDIT FOR! I have actually given into the cravings (NOT RECOMMENDED) and mercifully gotten sick or dierreah. Needless to say the operation definitely works for reinforcing good food choices.
I too am down 17 -18 lbs (depends on the day). I have lost most of that in the first week. I have lost anything in a week, and I think it is becaue I am unable to get all required protien and fluids in. It seems as if I focus on protien and manage to get most of it in, fluids suffer. So the next day I try to focus on fluids, and my protien suffers. URGGGGGGG! I hope it will get better as time goes on.

Thank God I am not the only one who feels this way!! I had my surgery on 8/15 and am also getting a little discouraged (total weight loss is 23lb). I'm getting tired of eating the same thing everyday and am having trouble with getting the right amount of protein and fluids. I weighed myself today and I haven't lost anything for the past couple of days. How can this even be possible??? So I know what you mean by not progressing as fast as it should be but if what others say is correct...things will get better. We just need to hang in there.
Hi Trish
I will be a week out on Wednesday and Ialso have not felt all that great, nor am I hungry at all. I have been running a fever for two days and I did call Dr. W. however I hate calling and complaining him. The only thing that really tastes good to me right now is the Blue Bunny yogurt and that is high in sugar. I find when I am feeling down I come to this site and I post about how I feel and look at some good success stories and know I will feel that way soon. I go and see him today and will be anxious to get on the scale. I had my husband hide ours. Try and smile if you are a believer say a quick prayer and I will do the same for you!
