6 days post op
Well it is six days now and I get a little better each day. I'm a big big baby. Understanding this helps me. I hate the protien drinks but a few diferent ones should be here in the mail in a couple of days. I ate 8 ounces of oatmeal made with water this morning and this was better than the milk. I'm going to try yogurt at lunch. Need to drink more water. Getting in the vitamins but I like the way they taste. Tummy growls every time I eat. Loosing weight every day though I shouldn't be standing on the scale. staples are sore... don't want anymore pain meds they make me icky and mean to my husband. I love the little blue sleeping pills the doc gave me. Ambien makes me loose my mind. Tired yea tired but 51 and just had major surgery. Jealous of those getting out of the hospital with no pain. Husband is eating good things around me. If I ate a bite of that stuff Id scream in pain. I'm not very hungry at all. Gosh his pizza smelled good last night. He's rotten. Well so far so good just tired and feel stiff and a little sore. God Bless
Hang in there Kathleen! It does get better! I'm one of the blessed ones that had almost no pain with surgery. The only thing I really felt was the soreness from the incisions. I'm almost three weeks out and feeling much better just in the last two days. I was using milk to mix my protein drinks and it was making me nauseated. I feel much much better after using jus****er to mix them with.
After you've gotten past the soreness you'll feel much better. Believe me, you'll have more energy and feel better than you have in years!
Here's wishing you the least painful, most productive successful weight loss journey!!
God bless you!

MEAN MEAN HUBBY!
My stomach growled a lot too for the first week. Heck, basically all my innards gurgled.
For liquids, try getting some chicken noodle soup and only having the broth. I practically lived on that for four weeks. Got a little old, but always sat well.
I definitely understand about the protein drinks. I think there are very few people other there who's first food choice would be a protein shake.
