Okay I am finally home from hospital and on the other side! Come now more over...I need more room then that on this here loser's bench. I had some complications that required I stay longer, such excessive beleeding & cardi tacha. My surgery too longer then normal due to the amount of scar tissue in my ab area from past surgeries in that area. Also my surgeon had to seperate the liver for the stomach before starting, as it had attached itself vis scar tissue. I don't mind saying I WAS SACRED! Everything smoothed over somewhat and now I am home to recover. I won't lie first day was rough, but you are so medicated you are hardly awake to notice, I vaguelly someone on the medical team suggested blood transfusion. Second day a little sore, spoke to cardiologist regarding rapid heart beats and what not, I was feeling a little tired, yet all & all it was walk in the park. Third day things when a rye, bad nausea, pain, very very weak & feeling like I was going to pass out when I stood up. I was not passing much urine in comparsion to what was going in for fluids. BUT God is good, and today I feel 100% better then before. I felt so well, I took the most embrassing BM @ the hospital. It was so bad I clogged the toilet & they had to call maintance to fix it! Who know sooo much could come out when sooooooooo little is going in. My feet are SWOLLEN due to all the fluids. At this point IF I felt up to it ,I would go shopping for a pair of shoes, just throw the shoes away & where the boxes...probably the only things that would fit with the swelling going on! Even the slippers I brought with me are to smallThe skin on my legs & calves feels VERY thigh due to amount of swelling. Doc says it will come down in time. I hope he is right because like a fool I weighted myself before coming home on hospital I was up 17 POUNDS!!!!!!!!! Please lLord let it be fluids. My back is killing me not sure if it was all the walking, or the hospital bed, or spending so much time in a chair, slack of sleep, or extra weight in fluids. I'M JUST HOPE IT IS TEMPORARY. Plus it could be due to weird bending habit deployed after surgery I try ever possible position not to have bend at teh abdomine. I brought at back scratcher to teh hopital it came in HANDY. It served dule duty, it served teh first purpose of scratching back, and secdond duty of help to pick up dropped items with out having to bend completely. I was sent home with the drain in place & have to return Wednesday to have it removed. I did A LOT of walking mostly becuase I was afraid of adding gas pains into the mix of problems, and the possibility of blood clots is always scary...especially since I was not getting shots of blood thinner like most GB patients. Nurses on 4th North @ NEMC worth mentioning, they work HARD and for the most parrt they ARE WONDERFUL. Particularly, Jackie, Deb, Bobbi, and a nurse that was angeny who's name I forget...she is going in for a Lap-band next month @ Brigham & Womens. The poor Medical interns/residents are so over worked, I would see them there ALL the time. If I was walking at 10 AM, they were there, If I was walking at 5 AM they were there, If I was walking at midnight, they were there. I guess I didn't sleep much while there. And neither do they. One of the interns actually asked when I sleep because he always sees me walking the floor. I did not have the heart to say what I truly felt, I fought sleep because I was afrain if I closed my eyes, I might never open them again...due to the rapid heart beat or excessive blood loss. They sent me home with the wrong first name on my RXs....they did however get the right last name. So my sister is having a fun time, waiting at pharmacy for the DR. to call in the RX's under the right name. THANKS to Carloyn from the board for being my angel!
