1 week 2 days post op feeling good
Hey everyone,
Thought it was about time I checked in. I feel 1000% better than a week ago. Thought I was dying LOL. I haven't weighed myself yet, Iknow the first few weeks can be a yoyo and I don't want to get discouraged. I have my post op appt. on Friday and get this STUPID drain out. I swear it is the most irritating thing in the world, that and my dog thinks it a toy for him and keeps trying to dive for it, Uhhhg.
I still am a bit sore especially the drain port that is pulling at the stiches so I know as soon as I get it out I will feel a lot better. Started really walking yesterday, just didn't feel up to it, but I did a good 10 min today and I am going to start building. Most of the time I have to wait until evening because of the heat!!
I am living with two bottles by my side as we speak, one with protien shake and another with water and that is how I have been since I got home. I know I haven't hit 60 g protien yet but I am working on it.
Honestly the hardest thing I am finding is when to stop drinking. I don't feel hungry and I don't feel full, I only feel the OVER FULL, so I am going to have to really use my 1oz cups to measure becasue I have the overfull feeling.
I am glad to be back and love you all
Trish
Hiya LOSER!!!! Glad to see you're doing well! I didn't have a drain and had my post op this past Monday. How many protein drinks are you drinking a day? I hope at least two, and hopefully your protein powder has 24 g protein. I know what you mean about the OVER FULL feeling! Not sure when that will go away as I have it too. Well, let me know how things go Friday-I know you can't wait!
Hugs,
Lisa

Hey everyone!
I had my surgery on the sixth too! The first few days out I measured everything that I drank using these little one ounce cups that I got at the hospital, but now I can guess the right amount pretty well. I have been getting in more than the minimum for liquids and I have been getting in more than enough protein. I tried using protein shakes with 15g protein at first, but that got old fast. I am now using profect (25g of protein in about 3oz). It tastes gross, but if you can get it down, then it makes it much easier to get all of your protein in Good luck to you all!
Hi everyone, I had my surgery on the 6th, this is how I am getting in my protein, I mix 30 grams in the morning with 6oz of liquid, usually a sugar free mix (orange or cherry) I got from Wal-Mart. I am also using this protein mix from Wal-Mart, it is Vanilla, when I mix it with drink mix it kinda has a Creamscicle (sp?) taste to it. The exercise is getting tricky here in North Carolina because of the heat, so I am using my exercise bike to compensate. I agree with you about not getting on the scale, because I got on the scale when I got out of the hospital and I had gained 4lbs. I almost fainted, but soon found out it was mainly the fluid, thank goodness. Hang in there it will be alright
Happily jumping because next week I get pureed food.
