I made it home and back to work sugery was aug. 6th.
hello everyone. made it home finally and today is monday and i am back to work.
i am feeling good now but after the surgery i was not doing well. the moraphine made me dry heive for a day then when they changed my pain meds i got better. i was in icu for 2 days then reg room for 2. came home thursday and boy was glad to get home. good luck to everyone having surgery and thanks for the prayers.
Wow!!! Keep up the great work!!!! I am amazed that you are back on the job already. You must have had the band installed, right? I sent an email to my supervisor today letting her know about my upcoming surgery in October. I told her I would be back to work in 1 1/2 to 2 wks. Is that about right? The band takes less time to heal than the RNY.
Take care of yourself and let me know how you're doing from time to time.
You're in my prayers,
Iris
yes i am back to work, but i do have a sitting down job. i work in office. i had the band a few years ago but that didnt last long it got infected. i just had RNY this time. im doing good. if the roof of my mouth gets better. i think when they put the brathing tube in it made 2 sores on th roof of my mouth. is very painfull, worse than the surgery itself. good luck on your surgeries.
Desk job, me too! It would be cool to return to work so soon.
The infection part isn't good. My doc told that was a possibility of the band. I still want to try it. I also asked if the Band didn't work out well for me could I do the RNY later on. He said normally it's the other way, a patient goes in for a RNY and it is not suitable so the person comes back at a later date for the Band. I guess they don't prepare for both scenerios just in case. It would seem to me to be a good idea, to hedge your bets so to speak. But maybe not.
Anyway, I am glad you are doing well aside from the sore throat
Keep in touch my friend,
Iris
I had the band done on July 2 and went back to work on July 9. I do have a desk job for the most part and had alot of help with the heavy lifting part. My side where the port is placed was the sore spot for about 3 weeks. Tried not to laugh, cough or sneeze. I go for my first adjustment Aug. 23. Little nervous about that!

Great news Connie!!!
My sup was justing asking if I would be back in about 2 wks. I told her I wasn't sure, everyone heals differently and I would keep her informed of my progress.
You're going several weeks before your first adjustment. How cool I was concerned that I would be getting adjustments all the time. Again great news :cool
I would like to add you to my friends list. Let me know.
Take care and keep in touch
Iris
