Hello, Id like to have the Lapband done, I have Blue Cross HMO, has anyone used them and how was the process? Im in Ventura county. How long did it take to get approved and what was the requirements? i have no medical issues (Thank God) but my BMI is 45, I dont want health prob. thats why I want the band im 33 and ready to live my life unfat!!

cheryl, I dont have blue cross so I dont have the answer to how long the process takes. But i do know since you have an hmo policy you need to have you primary care physician to refer you to a surgeon within your medical group. You can always contact your insurance company and ask them if the surgery is covered under your policy and what is the proper procedure to start process. I hope this will help u get started!
