lap band doesn't work!!!!!

hey anybody out there with the band regretting getting it? i know at least 4 people who it hasn;t worked for. what about you guys anybody out there banded that had a real hard time losing the weight? took a looong time? or even gained????

Go for the RNY bypass....You won't regret it. The Lap band is good, but the weight loss is much slower. You also have to go in for fills that can be costly. See my posts at kat4872 :)

I can't say that I know anyone who has regretted it but I do know that some insurance companies are not covering it any longer. My insurance included. They told me that they stopped covering it this year because they did not like the success rates. My doctor also told me that even though he does them, he is more inclined to recommend the RNY because of the same reason... success rates. -Marianne C.
