Pre-Surgery Hygiene

Has anyone been given directions from their surgeon about any special preparations of the areas through which they will be poking holes? Obviously be well showered, but was wondering if anything else was recommended.

No, my doctor has said nothing about any special prep for me to do where they'll be poking the holes. I've had two other laprascopic surgeries and nothing special was necessary on my part before surgery except the shower. My surgery in on August 13th and I'm so excited! I have to use a special cleansing bar in my shower the night before and the morning of.

I have been told to shower with Hibicleans (which you can buy over the counter at your local drug store) from below the breast to just above the pubic area and not to put on any lotion or powder. Good luck with your surgery!
