Is anyone else on a roller coaster of emotions like I am. I'm happy, I'm scared, I'm excited, I'm terrified, I'm like a fish out of water!! I have been reading so much on everything, checking out web sites. I have only had 1 surgery before. Recvieving lots of support from everyone. But, yes I am nervous. Are you?

Hello Surgery Twin! My surgery is also August 6 and I'm doing the roller coaster thing too. We should stay in touch these last few days before surgery to keep each other in line. Are you doing a pre-op diet? Big hugs going out to you sweetie! Julie

hello, i too am having gastric bypass on the 6th. i have been crying for a couple days now and as i get closer to Monday i wanna cry more. i think it is just the diet. i am hungry. my diet lets me have protein bar for breakfast and lunch and in between snack of small piece of fruit and yogurt since i am diabetic and i can have a small piece of meat for supper with s salad, or veggies or small baked potato. this should keep me satisfied, but no its not. i i know i need this done and i know i will be much healthier and happier. i have a loving husband who is my support. and he has been giving it. good luck to everyone having surgery on our day. i will keep you both in my prayers and will say a prayer for you both on our day.

Lenna, Hi, yes this is surely a very emotooional time for us. To make the decision to look having into this surgery performed, should we tell anyone, should we really consider this. The emotions we have gone through....not to mention that we are women ! Plus we have the weight on our shoulder of our daily lives to add to our plates with everything else thqat is goin on. So if you cried, so what, you are human, and cry if you want. Because pretty soon we'll be smilin when we look at the scale and see the weight finally comming off ! Hang in there.... My husband is very, very supportive. He is as excited as i am, he will finally have his wife back from years ago! Where did she go, she has been hiding inside this blob....I finally got up the courage to have this surgery done. Why didn't I do it before now? "Have you ever thought of that ? "You are in my prayers...Hugs to you!

Hi,Julie.... I'm having the lap band surgery done, and no pre-op diet. Just the day before, all fluids. Have not heard the time of surgery yet. They are supose to call me tormmow to advise of the time. Have read that sometimes they send you home the same day, others have had to stay overnight. Do you find yourself eating things that you think that you won't have for a while, or ever again. We had steak tonight, and didn't even fini****big plus for me. Big hugs out to you too...!

I know the feeling quite well, I had such a bad day on Monday. I decided to have the lapband, then I was taling to a friend who had another type of surgery. She wanted to know why I decided to have lap band and not the one she had, "I wouldn't loose very much weight, etc., etc. She really had me upset, I didn't let her know that. She was only tryilng to talk to me about everything. So consquentlly, I wanted to change my mind. But you know I went home and read some more, and slept on it and I am still glad that I decided to have the lap band. I can only imaging on You must be really nervous, about insurance approval, etc. You should hear something really soon. Your in my prayers, big hugs! Sandy

sandy, i had the band in me for 2 years. go for it alot of folks do the band and have great success. i didn't have such luck with the band. they had to finally take it out. but you will do great. a tip for you though. always be conceous of what goes in your mouth. it is a trial and error thing as for any weight loss surgery. you will learn what you can eat and cant. with lap band you will be able to eat most all food IF, you eat slow very slow. so be careful and watch your diet so you will be one of those who has much success. i am here for you if you have any questions.

Hi Sandy... I just got news that they moved my surgery date up 1 day to the 6th. I too am on a roller coaster. One minute I am elated the next scared, unsure, and powerless as to what will happen to me while I am asleep. The last week, even though I have always known this, reality hit that I am making a permanent life change and got scared that I will fail myself somewhere down the road. I am not good at consistency or being good to myself. For a change I want to be good to myself, but I am not good at putting me first even for a little bit. Anyway if you want to chat just send me a line I am proud to be sharing a bday with you. Trish

I must be one of the lucky ones. I have no roller coaster ride of emotions. I am just starving from this diet. I guess I have other roller coasters though, but not related to the surgery. I am quite content with my decision.
