Hi am an August 6 surgery dater in Florence KY. My sister had it in 2003 and a revision in 2006. We just moved to AR, but I still plan on having surgery with Dr. Tom.

Hi Juli, My name is Trish and I just found out today that my surgery date is the 7th of August. I feel relieved, scared, unsure. My doctor still has not said anything about 2 week liquid diet to me or in my paperword. I do have to do a 2 day bowel cleansing so I wonder if that is instead of the 2 week liquid diet? Hi Trish, I'm Julie from the 'surgery in August' forum. Sorry for taking so long to get back with you. If your doctor is ordering a 2 day bowel cleanse, then you probably won't have to do a liquid diet. You could probably do a liquid diet if you wanted to though. The main purpose of this is to shrink your liver because 'fluffy people' like us tend to have fatty livers and a liquid diet will shrink it giving the surgeon a lot more room to move around when he/she is doing surgery. Give me a holler, I would love to talk to you more. Also, my surgery date was moved from August 1 to the 6th, so we are one day apart. Julie

Hi Julie; Funny you should ask about my date today. I went to the mailbox this morning and there was my approval letter. I just got off the phone with the surgeons office and they haven't gotten it yet, but she said if I would fax it to her, they will get my date scheduled. So as soon as I know, I will post it for you. Maybe we will be band buddies soon? Even if we are close on dates, hey I'm still there for ya. Pauletta
