omg that sounds EXACTLY like me...
Im 7 wks out and have lost 30 since surgery, (50 total), gone from as loose 22 to a loose 16, and same as you in shirts too.....
Congrats on your loss...my scale has STOPPED moving and hasnt in this will be the 4th week.....
I can NOT drink all my liquids.......I struggle daily and just cant do it...I hear this will get better but ugh....I get so mad at myself...every day I say this is it..Im going to get it all in...but man I do good to eat...
I dont want anything at all...so everything is an effort, cause I know I wont loose unless I eat and drink...so Lets work together and compare notes...
We gotta get this under control dont we? The only thing I can stomach is diluted Crystal Light in Tangerine-Strawberry...that the only flavor...others make me sick.
So miserable...what are you drinking?
but its so funny what you say about sleeping...before surgery I never could sleep...then right after I started sleepin like a baby....now I have so many pillows trying to get comfortable that I mess with them all night...lol
I didnt even think about my curves being the difference...it makes sense huh?!
Topic: Forgetting to eat
I'm about 7 or 8 weeks out and I find myself forgetting to eat. I'm just not hungry and food doesn't really interest me. It's now 3:00 and all I've eaten is some egg beaters and a slice of low fat cheese. So here I sit eating some soy chips so I can get my protein in. Part of it is I am craving very flavorable food but I'm not much of a cook. I'm going to have to look up some really good recipes so I will eat more. I need to get myself back on eating on schedule. I think the novelty has wore off and I need to reley on routine to do what I am suppose to do.

like so many have said before they operated on our stomachs not our heads. we still have those thought and it is up to us to change our thinging about food. You may have been able to eat some of the pizza just not the crust. when there is something you really want that is there take a tiny half teaspoon of it and usually that is enough to satisfy the urge and you dont feel deprived. I'm going through the same thing...7 weeks out today, surgery weight was 309 and I've lost 40 lbs. and I'm down 2 clothing sizes...BUT....
the scale hasn't moved in almost 2 weeks (except for the 2 or 3 lbs. I seem to gain and lose every other day). I too have been having problems with my period...I'll be 48 in a few weeks and for the past couple of years, I would have it for a few days maybe every other month and it was very light. Now, both times I've had it since surgery, it's lasted almost 2 weeks and been very painful and heavy. Not to mention my face is breaking out and I have some major eye inflammation which my eye doctor says is an auto-immune reaction to the stress my body is under since the RNY.
I think the best thing about the message boards is that the more I read, the more I understand that everyone goes through much of the same stuff..we get frustrated, we're unsure if we're doing everything correctly, we've spent so much time being overweight that we want it gone ASAP. I don't regret for a minute that I had the surgery - it has absolutely saved my life - I'm just not as prepared for the post-surgery issues as I thought I was.

i LIKE your 'fat brat' name for those doubts that plague us. i'm about 7 weeks out too, doing fine in the loss dept, i do find i am losing inches way faster than pounds, have come down a couple sizes in slacks. packing now for a trip, going thru my closet trying on things, tossing those i wont need any more, finding a few things i can now use again, cool.
i'm glad you sent your 'fat brat' packing, i'll think of you if mine tries to rear her nagging head. keep up the good work.

Topic: 9 weeks post-op
I am 9 weeks post-op and have lost 39 pounds since surgery(total of 52). I have lost 20 inches. Went from a size 20W to a 16. Now I can wear a large shirt instead of 2x. My biggest challenge continues to be drinking enough fluids. If I drink to fast,I am in agony. Eating is no issue as long as a follow my guidelines. I am unable to eat beef, but eat lots of chicken and seafood. I am working out 3 days a week.
This may sound funny, but I have trouble being comfortable in bed trying to sleep. I have lost weight so fast that I have curves that I have difficulty with. By the morning my hips and lower back hurt and I am stiff once out of bed. I have been using pillows to help support my curves, not much help. Yesterday, I bought an eggcrate and flipped my bed to see if that would help and I did seem better this morning. Will see how it goes.

Hey ladies.........we CANT give up....(although I want to daily too)...Think of all we went through in order to get here....the long hard journey we traveled in order to be blessed with this tool.
I must remind myself DAILY...as I struggle with water intake and eating...
although I have only lost 28 since surgery...most people are more...
My scale hasnt moved in this is the 4th week! FOUR LONG WEEKS....
that is depressing but hey it sounds like we all are experiencing it to some degree.
My surgeon told me that I would lose slowly due to being a "light-weight" yeah right...but it obviously is true.
Lets be strong gurls! We can do this.
How many sizes have you guys dropped? I screwed up and didnt take my measurements...but Ive gone from a 22 to a loose 16 so far..so hey the scale may not move but the inches are!

It's hard to stop old habits, I think if any of us could we would probably overeat at least once a week or more. Most of us are addicted to food, it is our weakness. We have to fight everyday to beat the addiction.

I agree with Annette. I eat about 1/2 cup per meal and have a snack between meals. I usually don't count calories, but try to choose protein first and drink about 4 glasses of water a day. I know I am not getting enough protein or water in, but I try. But I certainly do not starve myself either. I think I get between 500 and 700 calories a day. My doctor said he does not want me losing more than 2 pounds a week.
I think as Tracey pointed out, you can't possibly get the nutrition (protein) in with that little of food. I would talk to my doctor again. ALso you have to find what works for you, but please don't starve yourself.

YEEHAW!! Very happy for you, that was a long stall but the 15 pounds more than made up for it!! Congrats!
I havent had quite the losses that you have had but I am still pleased. I was one of those who panicked between week 3 and 4 that I hadnt lost anymore, then 5 more came off and now another 5. Altogether I have lost 35 pounds since surgery on August 29th and 53 from my highest weight.
Now I want to go out and buy some size 18s! haha I have everything from size 24 to 20 in my closet and each day I am trying something new. The 24s are too big and the 22s and 20s are fitting nicely. But I am refusing to buy anything until I get through my closet full of clothes that were snug or too small before. Maybe by Christmas!
Life is good.
