Topic: RE: Depression setting in
I am also struggling with depression. A lot of the members of our "group" are happy and full of life. I feel sick a lot of the time. I'm eating very little, however I struggled with the scale all week. It did not move. I realize that this to shall pass. I hope things get better for you. Thank you for sharing, it made a big difference to me!

Jenny doesn't make you feel great. The first time I sleep on my back and did not snore or stop breathing I had to contend with my hubby waking me up to see that I was alive still. He was not used to no weird noises coming from me. I am a post op who will celebrate her 4th rebirthday on the 28th of this month. When it comes to the foods chew well and set you fork/spoon down between bites and after you finish chewing give it a minute before you take another bite. Get ot now your body and when it is getting full. For me it was like a ball rolling from my tummy area to my breast bone.If I let get that far it was to late, but if I stopped as it started to move I was okay. As for the Biotin I used to take 500MCG. As you get back to regular foods and get more protein in you you will not have a need for it. Good Luck and Congrats on the 33 lbs and lose of the comobs. Jenn

That's a great idea. Being the chocolate queen that I am, I'll have to try it with chocolate protein, too. lol I look for little treats anywhere I can get them. It's pretty sad when I look at my calcium chews as my little ray of sunshine lately...it all helps though.

Hi Jodi, Im with you about the Swiss Miss. I kick it up by using one packet and adding one scoop of vanilla protein (I use Designer Whey) and mix with 20 oz ho****er. It is so delicious I cant believe it. I look forward to it as a treat. I couldnt stand the protein shakes until I discovered this way. Especially now that its cold outside. I also eat a lot of fish, mostly salmon but lots of shellfish as well. Ive been very lucky and have had no trouble with foods but I have also taken the steps very slowly and carefully. Moisture seems to be key, nothing the least bit dry is tolerable. Annette

Hi Jenny, I dont know on the biotin but wanted to say congratulations on no comorbidities! I was off high blood pressure meds the day after surgery (how the heck does that happen??) and off asthma meds within 3 or 4 weeks. I am 9 weeks out and have lost 47 pounds and figure if I dont lose any more its ok because I am healthier now. Plus look at how much we will save in prescription copays every month!! I took introducing new foods really slowly. I did not want to barf and, knock on every piece of wood around me, I havent yet. Once I felt like I would after eating some salmon too fast or too big bites, not sure which. One thing I noticed when transitioning to real food is that anything the least bit dry is bad, I poach most meats now. I eat lots of fish especially salmon. You get the most protein for your buch with seafood, especially shellfish. Most are zero carbs and loaded with protein. Best to you, Annette

sugar free Swiss Miss has been my saving grace for getting the fluids in. If my protein is lacking for the day, I use skim milk to make it. Usually, though, I rely on just ho****er to get it mixed up. It seems to be the easiest thing to get down lately, especially now that it's getting cooler...Crystal Light seems to be on the sweet side, so if I mix it up, with the 2 qt mix, I use just part of the mix. To be honest, though...I don't care much for it. Diet Peach Iced Tea, and Diet snapple are easier for me, lately. I used to be able to drink a lot of water, but not now. Always looking for other choices though.....

I had my 6 week check up last week and I am officially no longer diabetic, off BP meds and no longer using a cpap. I am down 33lbs.
It is time to transition from soft mushy foods to real foods and I have been doing ok some things work some things bounce back up or hurt. I really miss fresh veggies.
Taking B12, calcium, zinc, vitamins and biotin. How much Biotin are you supposed to take I have seen everything from 3MG to 5000mcg?

Topic: RE: I still want to eat!
HI Brenda,
I too have been having some issues this week. You see my weakness is sweets and breads....great time of the year coming up. Well, there is candy allover at work....I reached for a piece and stopped in my tracks and said, I can't and moved on.
The very same day we had pizza at work....now I said, hey...cheese, meat..I CAN and I did. No crust just toppings and I was satisfied.
I eat my protein first always and then I have a little something if I want....usually a spoon of peanut butter.
Hugs,
Traci

we are in the same boat. I have been carring a water bottle around with me, in my pocket or purse and trying to drink every half hour. Water at room temperature is my favorite drink. I can drink other things like iced tea, sugar free lemonade etc. yesterday I managed to drink 30 ounces of water. It is still not enough, I wish I could just chug it down like I used to. But I would be rolling on the floor in agony if I did (I have tried though). My scale also has quit moving and yesterday I was depressed until I realized the weight loss will continue. Just think about it we have lost 50 lbs this year. THat is impressive!!!!! any other time we willbe jumping up and down.
We have to get a schedule set for water and nutrition. It is funny now, I think of food as nutrition.
My eggcrate mattress has helped with my sleeping issues, my back is better than before.
