Topic: RE: I am 8 weeks out .... what are you eating
I had my surgery on August 22nd and am down 40lbs since day of surgery. I am able to eat just about anything that doesn't have a sugar content over 7 grams.......after 7 grams it is dump city, and yes, I test it often....my "fat brat" gets the best of me... I have had a hard time with a few things like beef sticks and sausage, anything with a casing around it. The only times I have vomited is when I have taken in too much liquid too fast. I have yet to get in a full 60 grams of protein a day and my water is an issue. I just started back to the gym last night..........I sure hope I stick with it. Highest Weight - 258 Day of Surgery - 236 As of 10/24 - 196 Goal - 140 (not set in stone yet)

Topic: RE: Talk to Me - tell me how it's going....
I had surgery on 8/22 and am finally doing GREAT!! It took six weeks for me to get back to "normal", but after that six week mark I had no more pain, no more diarea, and I could finally eat real food! I am down 49 lbs. and working out 4 times a week. It feels great to be back in a routine. I have gone from a size 28 to a 22.

I had surgery on Aug. 22nd. I am now eating steak, chicken, jerky, protein bars, yogurt, cheese, pork. The only thing that does not agree with me is eggs. I have had two stricutures, but hopefully I'm done with that!!!

I am just curious as to what everyone is eating. I had my surgery on Aug 28 and I still am having major issues with food. Turkey and chicken make me throw up, some soft foods are ok like oatmeal (sometimes). I know I have a small stricture and an ulcer so I have to be careful. I am down 42 lbs and have 60 lbs to go. But I would really love some suggestions as to what others are doing. Thank you so much for your help. kelly

Thanks for the replies. I only take B12 sublingually daily, no shots. I could get a shot once a month, but bilingual is easy to.

Topic: RE: Is anyone able to get all 60 grams of protein....
I am able to get in about 59 grams of protein. This is around 650 calories and 55 carbs. I can not wait for the day when I do not have to take in any protein other than in my food!! Hopefully today is the day!!!

I take a sublingual B12 3x a week, flinstones chewable vitamin 2x a day, sublingual Biotin 1000mcg 2x a day (for hair loss), and 4 Citracal chewable calcium the chocolate kind. I also take my antidepressants, pain pills for back and pepcid. If my pain pills cause me to be constipated the Dr. told me to use Benefiber the stuff that dissolves in any liquid and it works fine. One less pill to crush or dissolve under my tongue is fine with me. I crush all my pills and mix them with Breyers light yogurt which gives me more protein and calcium. Breyers has the least amount of sugar and highest protein. Glad you found this board too, it has helped me immensely

I am able to get in at least 40g but not 60 so far. I found some Frigo Cheese Head string cheese that is low calorie and has 9g of protein so I eat a couple of those a day to boost my count and eat meat and eggs. I hate all the protein shakes and Isopure causes me to dump. The dr. said high concentration of protein like that can cause a form of dumping for me it is stomach cramps and the trots. They don't taste good enough for that.

I take Viactiv chewable multi vitamins (they taste like chocolate candy), I take tums smooth dissolve for calcium, and I take a 65mg tablet of iron, my surgeon says most women of childbearing age are defficient in iron anyway so he told me to take it. I do not take any fiber or anything else and I am just as regular as ever. The doctors give me a shot of b12, but do you take something by mouth also? Julie
