Today is actually my 2 month surgiversary. I'm still trying with the fluids. I hope that one day, that will not be an issue!

I am 2 months out as of August 22nd, I am feeling wonderful physically and down 40lbs since day of surgery. I can tell my body is changing a lot faster than my mind. I get all this energy and don't know what to do with it, I used to eat when I felt this way......now I just get to feeling like I am chasing my tail, I now know what a smoker goes through when they are trying to quit. It is very frustrating at times. I am just starting to workout, I think this will help curb my extra energy/anxiety. The more I loose the more I am motivated to go to exercise. My water is not what it should be, but getting better. I am also burnt out on Crystal Light and am now hooked on Sugar-Free Kool-Aid, I found it in the single packets like the Crystal Light. I also find it easier to tolerate plain water when I put the bottle in the freezer and drink it as it melts, the colder the better.

Topic: RE: Great Cookbook
My husband bought at Amazon.com. I have had a little more time with it now and have cooked about 10 recipes from it (a few even twice). I'm also cooking for my husband and he is also down 8lbs. The cookbook is easy to follow. To be honest, the flavors of the food I'm cooking now taste much better than anything I cooked before my surgery. Also, I have been able to adapt new ideas to old recipes as well. I'm just over 2 months from surgery and down 40lbs. Couldn't be happier (okay maybe if I was at my goal weight I would be a little happier)!

My surgery was 8/10 and I am down a little more than 80 pounds! I am eating almost anything...I still have problems with shrimp and steak, even if I chew, chew, chew. Everything else goes down fine. I still have to force myself to eat, as I am hardly ever hungry. I do fine with my fluids and protein (I sip down an Isopure once I get home till the time I go to bed). Bloodwork has been coming back fine...so, I have a feeling that eventually I will get hungry again. Les

I'm impressed with your goals for yourself. You are keeping them so realistic. So many of us want the weight to come off immediately and expect to lose 30 lbs a month. You are doing awesome. Thanks for confirming to me that I must set realistic and attainable goals. It will come off if I do the right things. I also have been craving crunchy. I found some South Beach Diet breakfast bars. 140 calories but 10 grams of protein. It was to die for. Dianna

I am now down -43 pounds.wow would would have ever thought that? Not me. I am down from size 22s to size 18s My first goal after surgey was to be down below 200 by my birthday . WEll i think i will get there my birthday isnt until the last of January and i only have 15 pounds to lose before then. wow. at the rate i am losing right now which is about 3 pounds a week i should be down to about 170 by then . that would be great. but i wont put that sort of pressure on my self . I am still sticking to less than 200 by my birthday . and if i go below 200 before then will just put another goal out there that is easily obtained that way i dont sit myself up for failure. Have any of your gotten the crave to munch on somthing sweet and crunchy or on something salty and cruncy? got a solution . Rice cakes now come in all sort of flavors . small amount of them are going to be fine. the mimi about 10 of them have like 20 carbs but no sugar and no fat. they are pretty good for a treat. wouldnt want to eat them all the time but 2 or 3 for a special little treat are really good. Hi folks - Sherryl -- re: other things to mix with eggs / tuna ... try l/f cottage cheese with some small diced cucumber. Then you don't need mayo at all. ---or --- plain s/f yoghurt. That also works really well. If you haven't been doing so, also try to find "ultra low fat" mayo. In Canada, Hellman's makes this. It could be the fat content that is getting to you. I too cannot tolerate chicken or tuna. Hamburger (Lean) -- in chili -- is a saviour for me. Cottage cheese, refried beans, those string cheese things. Yoghurt. This weekend -- as I mark my 8 wks. anniversary -- I cooked in my slow cooker some boneless pork tenderloins with cr. mushroom soup & cut up mushrooms. YUM. Nice & tender, 1/2c. for a meal & it goes down nicely. I did find the first 5 wks. really tough -- I don't want to see anything pureed again for a very long time But moving into soft foods was good ... I am now able to get my protein count in each day. Water continues to be a struggle, though I come close most of the time. With reaching protein goals finally, I am finding my energy levels are creeping back up. I still feel that I am spending my days thinking about / prepping for / then eating the darn food though! I am starting to get hungry feelings though, and find I am now wanting to eat. (first 4wks, yuck - it was a struggle to even want to eat) Anyhow -- Good luck everyone! Remember - sip sip walk walk protein protein vitamins vitamins. ttfn - ElizH

We have the same surgery date. I am eating most anything. I can't do orange juice, as that just makes me want to puke. I also can't do pizza yet. The cheese and sauce sent me into fat dumping. Other than that, I can tolerate almost anything. My weight loss is only 27 pounds, but my doc is pleased. He wanted 10% by week 6, and I exceeded that goal by losing 17%. I have been blessed by not vomiting since my surgery. Hugs, Trish

I've lost about 20 pounds but nothing since I went to have my first fill 2 weeks ago. I started at the gym 4x a week a week and a half after surgery. I struggle with the water because about the time I should be drinking water again (hour and half after I eat) I'm hungry again and my tummy is growling. how about you? I am at 8 weeks tomororw
