Dani, First of all, let me congrat you on the 40lbs!!!!!!!! You go girl when have you ever lost that much in 10-12 weeks?????????? I had surgery 8/2/06 and have lost 49 pounds ( I started to type ONLY) Get that out of your vocabulary someone else already told me. I am what they call a light weight and like you, my friends here who had surgery around the same time are losing 50-60lbs they have to lose more than me. My friend Dana suggested going to the Lightweight forum and that helped me big time. Check it out Seeds- no idea sorry... Hugs, Tanya 252/203/140 8/2/06 Lap RNY

Hi y'all! I am out 10 1/2 weeks. I have lost 44lbs since my preop appt. (what I am going by b/c it was my highest) Things are going okay. I have thrown up way too often. I think it is because I wait too long to eat. When I do eat, I am hungry and eat too fast. Then my pouch lets me know who is boss. I also do better when I don't eat with my kids. I eat too fast then also. I am not having trouble with my protein as long as I have 1-2 protein drinks a day. The nut said we could start swollowing pills and I am trying to do that. I still take chewables on occasion. I walked in a 10K this weekend which was a first. I just wanted to complete it and I did and did not pass out or die!! YEA! In all I am just trucking along. I know if I had not done this surgery I would be as heavy if not heavier as before by now. So even though I am not losing as fast as some, it is good for me!

Congratulations on your weight loss I had my surgery 8-1-2006, and to date I have only lost 48 pounds.I'm gratful because without the surgery I couldn't have lost that. And then too,we probaly don't need to lose too fast because I don't want to be one of those people that sags, and looks unhealthy.

Topic: two questions....
Hi all, i have some general questions for you all! 1. Is anyone else a slow looser? I had surgery on 8-8-06 and have only(and i hate saying that word) lost 40lbs. And i hate to compare myself to others, but "everyone" else that had surgey around the same time has lost 50-70lbs already. Any input would be great, even if its negative...LOL 2. Have you all heard wether or not we can have seeds? like pumpkin, sunflower ect??? Thanks guys, Dani

Hi Darlene, You and I could be twins....I am down exact one pants size...almost to a size 22...but not quite. I have however lost two top sizes...my boobs are shrinking like no tomorrow...but I knew they would since I didn't have any before gaining weight. Going through bras and underwear like no tomorrow...thank goodness for WAlmart! I love Lipton Diet Citrus Green Tea...I would be in the hospital with dehydration if it was for this product. I have only had one problem when I ate too fast....but that is it. I am so happy to be able to get most of my protein in through food but I do have one shake a day..Chocolate Unjury made with Lactaid Milk...yummy! Hugs ! Traci

Topic: RE: Halloween Candy Blues! No DUMPING
Hi Cindy, I don't dump on fats or sugars either. I have had a few things this weekend.....but I am okay with not dumping. I need to learn to do things in moderation and be healthy. Since you can't control it YET....get the candy out of the house. We still have a long way to go. The answer is no...I don't dump off of fats or sugars. Hugs, Traci

Topic: RE: August 15: 51.5 down
Hi Everyone! I am able to get all my protein in mostly through food. I drink one protein drink a day made with milk. My protein intake averages 75-80 grams. The fluid intake gets better daily...thank goodness. I drink herbal tea, green tea and grapefruit crystal light....and of course water. Everything has to be ice cold for me to drink it. I get all my vitamins in daily and use a chewable calcium supplement. I go for my 12 week check up in November. I would love to be down 50 pounds....but who knows. I went away this weekend for the first time since surgery and was able to eat everything in moderation....so happy that I didn't get sick. Hugs, Traci

Hi, I had my surgery on 8/25/06. At my one month appt, I was done 40. Haven't really weighed since then except once maybe at my pcp appt. I'm not sure if I've lost anything extra, but I did lose some inches. I can get in between 5-600 calories each day. I get all my protein betwee 50-70 grams. My surgeron would like between 50-60. I drink protein drinks sometimes. I am lucky as I have found some that I can tolerate. I also use protein pudding. I can tolerate mostly anything protein wise. I don't try to eat surgary things and I haven't had fried foods yet. Mostly I eat: Chicken breast Wing canned chicken shrimp fish ground meat ground turkey cheese yogurt (carb control) soy milk with some of my shakes fish -catfish, talipia and salmon For veges I eat Spaghetti squash Zuccini eggplant cucumbers cabbage Fruit melon strawberries I'd love to try grapes but I'm nervous about the skin The shakes/drinks that I drink so far are Body fortress (vanilla) walmart (it's okay, not great but tolerable) Fuzzy navel Roadside lemonade twisted cherry Crystal sky Carribean cooler I'm doing okay on my vitamins. I've changed up a couple of times. I bought some viactiv calcium, and viactiv multivitamins. I've read on here the debates about calcium carbonate/citrate however my surgeon and nutritionist feel that the cacium chews are fine, some people even do well on Tums. So what I've decided to do is use the calcium chews for one month and then switch to citrical for a month and back and forth. Once my labs come back I'll be able to see what's going on I guess. Iron is really hard on my belly so I've been taking it every other day. I take the vitamin c, zink and b-12 every day plus my actigall. I joined the gym and am able to go 3-4 times each week. Overall I'm feeling pretty good and do not regret my decision to have the surgery. I'm looking forward to the new me this summer!

I've lost 60 since 082206 my surgery date...I have concentrated today on fluids as I woke up a little swollen this morning, and I know that yesterday i didn't come close to what i was supposed to have. I do great with protein...70-90 grams a day that includes my shakes.. But the fluids... I wonder why we struggle with that so much? Have any of you tried the meatless fat free hotdogs? They're called "smart dogs" and are a vegetable dog? I bought some today and just had one... IT was pretty good , the texture is off a little, but it was something different. It has 9 grams of protein in it, and i had two cheese squares with it... so that made it about 17 grams.. not bad for lunch...
