Topic: CONSTIPATION? miserable
Hey buddies......are any of you having issues with constipation? Im miserable and I bet I could count on one hand how many "natural" movements I have had since surgery 8/28... If it wasnt for Fleet suppositories I would ever have movement.... I add Flax Seed oil to things and try to eat stimulating foods but ....no activation... anyone else have this issue....and what do you do?

Topic: RE: hey guys What to Eat
I am a month behind you guys but i can not eat anything with egg (deadly allergy), and beef still tears me up, so i have had to become creative with chickenand pork chops. The amish haev sauces like roasted raspberry chipolte and summer tomato and validia dressing. These are so good on chicken or pork. I just tip the spoon in and fill teh curved partt ehn spread it over the meat. it spices it up and doesnt add alot of extras that i dont need. Also try heating salsa on chicken then sprinkling cheese. For breakfast i usually eat 2 slices of bacon with cheese on them. i feel like i live off cheese. you can also go to taco beel and get a chicken soft taco in a bowl without teh tortia and no sauce add teh mild sauce and you have a nice little chicken spicy salad( you can only eat about half of it but it will awaken your taste buds) my husband fixed taco salads teh other night with chili and cheese chips and lettuce tomatos green peppers and i opted out the chips but everythign was ssoooooo goood. I hope that this helps, i had my surgery on sept 21 and have lost 43 pounds as of tuesday. good luck to everyone Jamie

Hi Karen, I am like you a slow looser but I am okay with that. Believe me I was sad....so sad that it just didn't drop off...smile! I have been exercising as much as my work schedule will allow...usually 3-4 times a week. I was told to add 10-15 minutes of another exercise to my routine and I did and I dropped 10 pounds. This week I intend to go up another level on the treadmill( I usually do 30 minutes) and now I add another 15 minutes of cardio...rowing, arc trainer, bicycle etc. I also work out with a trainer twice a week which is the best money I have ever spent! My size isn't changing much but my blood pressure is normal and my stamina is amazing.....I am so grateful!!! My problem continues to be getting in enough fluid! I struggle everyday with this! Hugs and the Best of Luck to everyone!!! Traci

Wow Carol and Zetta yalls loss is AMAZING! I must give you congrats on that....AWESOME! I had surgery 8/28 and have only lost 42! But I have gone from a size 22 to a 12/14 so Im happy......... on foods and stuff...........same here...........so bored and could care less if I eat anything at all ever. I struggle daily and never get my water in ever....but try to drink my Body Fortress protein each day...it mixed with milk taste great and gives me 31g in one glass, but I do have to admit on weekends Im even slack with that. food is such a challenge...I like on milk and cheeze they save me... and Ive started with protein bars but they are sweet tasting and I dont like sweet tasting things now... I use PURE PROTEIN bars...25g protein with only 2g sugar...they fill me quick though...oh and Atkins morning start crispy rice ones 15g of protein in them... they save me and help me get my protein in.........they are small and I can make it thru them...some days its just a bar and glasses of milk and one protein shake for me... although I have found Weigh****chers SMART ONES...they are low in carbs and sugar and high in protein...ranges from 15 - 25g per meal...watch the carb count though. Good Luck guys! and congrats again

You are all doing great. Don't beat yourself up about the rate of weight loss. There are several factors to consider. First....the more you have to lose, the quicker you will lose it. On the other hand, the less you have to lose, the closer to ideal body weight you will get. There are trade offs. When you see enormous weight loss, that individual may have double the weight to lose that you do. Also, when you work out, especially those who have become compulsive exercisers, you are replacing fat with muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so even though the numbers are slow, the fitness and percent body fat is improving. Slow and steady wins the race. Best wishes to all. Netta

Although thankfully I have not felt lightheaded, I too have trouble with appetitie and eating. I try so hard to get the protein and fluid in but it is an all day totally consuming thing. Who would have ever thought that a dr would tell me I needed to eat MORE? Anyway....You are not alone. I see how many people eat wild stuff and I can't imagine how they are doing that. I am still not much beyond cottage cheese and other similar soft wet foods. BORING. Don't get me wrong I am greatful for my 81 lb loss since my 8/24 surgery date. Others I know who are years post op said not to judge anything until at least 6 months post op. Things will get better. My dietian suggested that I start the day with a can of Zoic which is a protein shake. It has 21 g protein and only 1 gm sugar. It is fair in taste (Vanilla or chocolate) I get it down and then the rest of the day try to add protein like cottage cheese and Wendy's chili. I will also eat a slice of cheese as a snack. I carry light mozzarella cheese sticks with me too. It will get better. Keep up the good work. Be sure to take your vitamins, calcium and b12 Nettta

am 3 months out today. WooHoo! I have lost 75 lbs. total so far. My doctor told me to get a minimum of 40 grams of protein a day. I can only eat about 200 - 400 calories a day. I'm bored with food. I would rather not eat. I'm bored with my protein drinks. I drink only 1 a day, which is about 20 or so grams of protein, then whatever I eat counts towards the other 20 (hopefully). I have been bad with water, but have really been pushing it and Crystal Light. Why can't I eat? What do you all eat? How in the world does one eat 700 - 800 calories? I'm sick of cottage cheese and those types of foods. Today I even tried a quarter of a grilled cheese sandwich, I only took a few bites. I know I need to eat more, but just don't want to and nothing tastes good. Anyone else having these problems? Today I almost fainted in the grocery store. Thank God I was with a friend who stayed with me in the car till I felt a little better. I've been feeling lightheaded lately too if I stand for too long.

Topic: RE: 3 months out how much are you able to eat?
my surgery was 8/28 and I have lost 40.....and have been stuck at 190 for over a month...but my sizes are dropping quick..from a 22 to a 12/14...THAT is amazing! So while I want to be depressed about the scale I try to tell myself to stop looking at it....sounds like we all are in the 40 - 55 range....so that helps me not be so upset about it.
