I too feel your frustration. I am always hungry as well. I have lost the majority of my weight the 1st 6th monthes and now none, even gained a few. Very frustrated and scared. Anxious to hear the feedback/suggestions you get.

Hi Pam, I am pregnant too, with twins due 7/11/2008. I would check out the post-op pregnancy forum...I have learned a lot lurking there. My nutrionist told me (prior to finding out it was twins) that I needed 10 extra grams of protein per day for the baby. She also reminded me that the baby takes everything they need first.. I found it easier to eat many small meals throughout the day, especially with the "all day" sickness (rather than the morning sickness). I hope that all goes well for you...Congrats and good luck!!! Heather

I don't have any advice for you but I want to say CONGRATS! I want to have a baby myself but the doctors said I'm not healthy enough. My vitamin & mineral levels are low. So I am working on raising my levels. Good luck to you. Brenda

I don't check this site too often although I had surgery 8/28/06, but I did today and to my surprise I saw your e-mail. I just wanted to congratulate you on your pregnancy. How far along are you now?

Keep safe over there! Exercise may be your only option since you can't choose your foods. Keep on moving and drinking lots of liquids.

I'm doing good except for eating things that I shouldn't. It seems since Christmas I've been on a sweet feast. I'm kind of glad because I am 20 lbs. under goal, so I needed those extra calories, except that I love sweets, especially chocolate. Did you lose your weight while in the military or before? I can't believe nobody wrote you before. I don't check messages here much, because people don't post as much. It must be really hard to stay on course when you basically have NO control over what you eat. Keep in touch, let me know how you are doing......... Hugs, *Carol*

Topic: Pregnancy Surprise!!!
Well, yesterday I went to the doctor because I've had a cold that just doesnt seem to want to go away. To my surprise my pregnancy test came back positive! I thought I was broken, hmmm looks like I'm not after all. Before surgery my periods were extreemly irregular, and since loosing weight they have been like clockwork. However, missing a period didnt shock me because I was always irregular before. Does anyone here know anyone else who has gotten pregnant following the surgery? I'm looking for advice on eating etc, so I ensure my baby gets the nutrients he or she needs. Thanks in advance... Pam

Well it has been a while, I am about 250 from 476 not to shabby. I have some time on my hands to visit now that I am in Iraq. Downtown Baghdad to be honest. In the IZ "green zone" working. And I get a chance to see the world I just miss Texas and the wife and kids a great deal. So far I have been to London, Gatwick, Dubai and now Baghdad. On the way home in a few months I have a layover in Amsterdam that should be fun. Then I come back for another 4 month period. Oh and by the way it is hard to loose weight over here due to the food you get served but I walk a whole lot so I am trying to maintain. I plan on stoping in and weighing myself on the postal scale today. But I wanted to stop in and drop a line and see how everyone has been doing. I have ate at Saddam's palace more than once. Well his main one here in Baghdad. Lot's of pretty things inside of it still. Well hope everyone is well and we have not lost anyone.

Topic: RE: Iron Defussion
When I had my original labs done I was very low in iron too. My Gasto Dr prescribed prescription Iron of 325mg tablets. Initially I took it 3x a day and I could slowly decrease it. My iron came up to a level they feel I can take just 1 tablet. Only issue I have now is I am low in Vitamin D so I have changed when I take my calcium and Iron so it has a better chance to absorb. The iron is about 5 bucks at pharmacy for 90 tablets. Insurance for me does not cover it but its cheap enough. Darlene
