Amazing loss! Congratulations!!! From your post, I assume you had bypass, RNY? I didn't know that one has trouble eating chicken or beef with bypass. What do you eat?
Again, Congrats!!

Topic: RE: Another hair loss question
I think some are fortunate to not have to deal with hair loss and to some it happens. I took Biotin for months prior to surgery; took and continue to take my vitamins; log in around 70 - 90 g of protein a day and my hair is falling out. It scared the hell out of me....somedays there is so much hair on the brush, I'm sorry I even brushed it.
Hopefully it will start stopping and new hair will grow. If not, I'll get a wig. Look how much I have gained in my life. I can walk, I can stand, I'm longer diabetic, almost off my BP meds, spinal pain is totally gone, and I'm off anti-depressants! Not bad for 5 months, huh?

Topic: -117lbs and loosing
WOOOW 4months post op and i am already 117lbs down and about another 170 plus to go. My top weight was 455 my surgery day I was 440 and now I am 335 wow. I have gone from a size 30/32 to a comfortable 22. I am eating small portions and I really dont get any dumping. I have tried a little sugar at christmas time but all it did to me was make me really shakey and leave a bad taste in my mouth. I cant do bread or any high carbs. I try to stay under 7g of sugar and 20g carbs on anything I eat and ot seems to work. I can do chicken sometimes but not very often and I can do meat but again not very often. I am loosing some hair but now I am uping my protien to one 12-16oz glass of Nectur lemon ice tea mixed with crystal light lemonaide (mmm mmm Good) and taking Biotin, I hope that this helps me. I do have new pics at www.myspace.com/debbyeforu if anyone wants to see. This whole experience has been so positive I thank God for letting me have it.
Topic: Total knee replacement after RNY?
Well the time has finally come to give in to the knee replacement. I thought losing weight would help, but it only seems to be worse. I had RNY surgery on August 28th, 2006. My starting weight was 335. Now I'm 245. WOW Still can't believe it. Anyway, has anyone gone through a knee replacement? What are my expectations? Also, I've lost my a$$....How do I get it back? I'm flatter than a pancake back there...LOL
Topic: RE: 4 months out guys...What are you eating?
Hi Pam, my goodness you look great!! I didn't recognize you! I haven't been on here as we were away to Calgary after Christmas. I had an aha moment...I actually went skiing in the mountains with my girls, 2 years ago I tried and was so disappointed, I just could not do it physically! So thankful now for the weightloss that I can start to do those things again.
What am I eating? Just about everything, I still try to start with the protein, then veggies and finally carbs if I am still hungry. Often I am not, and it is great as I used tobe a carboholic! I did not eat real great over the holidays, and can see how grazing can add up the calories. However, I didnt worry about it too much, and did not gain. Last week in Calgary I had chinese food and it was too greasy and it came back up, it was the first time I had vomitted in a long time.
I try to have a yogurt for breakfast, and maybe a scrambled egg or omelet. Then tuna usually for dinner, and chicken or beef for supper. I like that I can eat what the others are eating, have a sample of it, but dont need to gorge myself.
Great to hear from you, you are doing so great,
Cindy
