Topic: 100 inches lost and gone forever!
Hi gang! I know that many of you (especially folks considered "lightweights") may not HAVE 100 inches you need to lose. I still have a lot more to lose! BUT, as of yesterday, I have documented loss of 100 inches from all over my body! I did not start measuring till I'd already lost about 40 pounds, so it is actually more than that, but it is a HUGE landmark for me in my WLS journey! I can honestly say that it feel even better than losing the first 100 pounds and reaching the century mark! As I'd become the queen of stalls lately, it felt really good to see this sort of progress in the inches department in an almost 2 month period with minimal weight loss! Hugs, Lea

Topic: What's your typical daily menu?
I am 6 mos. out//have gone from 222 to 155 since last August. But all of a sudden I have terrible gas pain and flatulence that is embarrassing. I am literally afraid to eat. I had to take antibiotics a couple of weeks ago and it started then with diahrrea and now just the awful gas. It keeps me up at night and I am hungry but don't want to suffer so I'm not eating enough. I am wondering what your typical day is like. All of a sudden I am confused about exactly what to try to make sure I'm getting enough protein etc. Protein drinks make me nearly explode with gas. Meat seems to do the same. Please let me know what you're eating successfully. Thanks.

I always re-read this article when I get in a stall. http://obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/action,replies/board_id,4856/topic_id,3051460/cat_id,44 56/a,messageboard/ I'm in one right now too. So frustrating. I intend to stay the course though and get through it. I'm NOT finished loosing. I have 4 more lbs. to be at the -100 mark with a total of 32 lbs. to goal. I will make it. Good luck and let me know if you find something that helps. Carol

OMG!!! I know exactly how you feel. I had Lap-Band surgery in august. I have lost about 60 lbs since then but lately I've noticed my cravings and eating habits have increased and my face is getting a lil chubbier. Im really scared that I've done something wrong. I try as much as possible to watch what I eat, however I am the average college student...always on the go, no time for breakfast etc. I eat alot of salads and wraps but I was told the wraps are no good because of the carbs. Theres not much variety of food on campus for me to eat and I think thats why I've been venturing to the bad side (a little baddness here and there but nothing too extreme) I really dont want my weight loss to stall and i'm definitely terrified of gaining weight which I think I might have (no more than 5 lbs though). My goal is to lose another 20-40 lbs by the begining of may for my 22nd birthday. Is there any suggestions or advice anyone can give me? My e-mail address is [email protected] if anyone would like to contact me personally. Its always nice to have someone to talk to that share the same experience.

Hi, it has been quite awhile since I have been on this site, just too busy I guess. I am very pleased with how I have done since surgery, although it certainly has slowed down. I only lost 3 pounds in February! I know I need to be more deligent on watching what I eat etc, but I think I just needed a break from it all and now am getting back into it again. I had a 3 pound loss last week, so hope my stall is gone. My stats? Highest weight 303 (last March) Surgery weight 185 Current weight 208 for a loss of 95 altogether and 77 since surgery. I am in size 12/14 and that is pretty exciting not shopping in the plus sizes anymore. Twice this weekend people who have not seen me lately said they didnt recognize me... Also I feel so much better, been downhill skiing with my girls, which I could not do the last time I tried (too hard on the knees) and also went to new york city for a mother/daughter trip with my 16 year old. No worries about fitting in the seats this time! Hey....reading back...I was in a bit of a slump before...looks like I am over it...feeling good!! Hope the rest of you are doing well, and if not, hang in there... Cindy

Hi Shelly, I am going through the same thing as you! I hope we are not done losing @ 6 mths --- I still would like to lose 54 more pounds. I do find myself eating a little more but I am exercising a lot too! Everyone says to watch what you eat and exercise. I have been doing that and it has not jump started yet. I guess I am just going to keep trying. At a positive note, I think my body is really shrinking. I have gone down a size with only 6 lbs lost. Anyway, hang in there and thanks for letting me know I am not alone!

i have always had problems with gas and beano is the only thing that helps me. i have tried the other brands, i even bought "little tummies" and those gave me no relief. As for Beano, if you cant swallow them whole, you can chew them. they are my life savor! I have had pains so bad i was on all 4's and could not move. i would rather give birth again then have gas pains that bad again. i carry it with me everywhere and buy the costco size from costco! Hope it helps!

Hi Lea, Thanks for the congrats and the same to you! 127 lbs. That's amazing. You're doing so great. You're probably right about starvation mode. I was warned about that and did pretty well with exercise keeping it at bay until recently. I would eat more calories but the only way to do that is to graze and I don't want to get back into that habit again. I am doing really well with water. Most days up to 96 oz. Protein is low because of the low calorie count. I feel great though and my nutritionist doesn't seem to be too worried about it at this point. I hover around 40-50 g per day. Not enough, I know, but the best I can do at this point. I have fasting blood work to do in a couple of months and she said if protein is low then we would address it. Like I said though I feel great and have plenty of energy so I'm not too worried. I walk for exercise and have even gotten so that I can trot part of it. We do have an excellent fitness center at the school where I teach so maybe I'll try to find some time during the day when it's not filled with smelly teenagers. Thanks for the suggestions. It helps to just talk with someone sometimes. Hugs, Carol
