Topic: Anyone Thinking of Plastics Yet?
I am 8 months Post-Op and I have lost -115lbs from a size 22/24 to now a size 10. I have 15lbs to my personal goal of 145 and goal of size 8. I have been stalled in the 160's for the last three months now. I went to see a local plastic surgeon who has 50% of his pratice as WLS patients. He said even though I am only 8months PO, I qualify for surgery since I am within my goal weight range and my panis will take the additional 15lbs of excess skin and I should end up in size 6. OMG! I am not working right now and have the money... What are your thoughts and please be gentle... Carrie

My surgery was 8/23. I hit the 100 lb mark on Christmas day which was a goal for me. I have only lost another 40 since then. The stalls are tough, I will go 2-3 weeks and lose nothing and then drop 7 lbs. Strange. I do know that if I am not pushing 90+ oz of liquid and the same in protein I don't lose. I don't think we are done, just our bodies taking a break to catch up. 370/230/??175 goal

What a topic! I too have been feeling like the rest of you lately. I am not toothpick thin by any means, lost 100 this far, but I act like I'm so skinny that my bones hurt when my husband hugs be too hard, or my child puts their bones into mine. I'm sensitive since loosing weight and definately have back pain since the loss. I know doctors say when your heavy you put stress on your body and just because we loose the weight doesn't mean it lightens things up.. at least for a while until our body gets used to the new lighter weight.. Keep up calcium chews to keep bones strong!!
Happy to be in

Carlos P Died March 14, 2007 Original Post by Wendy Pope-Glenn at 4:37 PM EST on 03/26/2007 On Wednesday, March 14, my baby brother Carlos Antonio Pope (Carlos P on this message board) died at the tender age of 33. Now many of you would say the standard, "sorry for your loss" but I am sending this to let everyone know that my loss and my family's loss is also the world's loss because my baby brother had so much to offer this world. I will have to go the Philly for the services early next week. His young life ended because of complications to a gastric bypass surgical procedure. He dropped 150 pounds in a matter of 6 months. This procedure, I feel, cost my brother his life and me and my family a beautiful, joyous and spiritual individual. My brothers talent was and still remains an immeasurable gift from the Creator, he sang like Luther and played the piano like Ray. But his biggest gift was that he loved unconditionally and yet, he couldn't get that in return. I would just like to say to all of my family, friends, and loved ones; Love yourself as you are, with whatever flaws, quirks, idiosyncrasies, etc. that the Creator has blessed you with. If someone cannot love you for all that you are then they won't love you ever, not truly love you. If my brother had felt that he was beautiful inside and out and that other loved and appreciated that beauty, then he might be here today. It was laid on my heart to tell each and everyone of you that I truly love and appreciate you for all that you give to my life and all that you are to me. I love and accept you unconditionally and I hope that you feel the same way about me. Life and time is fleeting, so always express and show love no matter the moment. If you don't hear from me, don't worry, I am dealing. Love Always, You Loving Sister Wendy

We have the same surgery date. I lost really fast in the beginning, 48 lbs in 48 days. My total now is 109. I am loosing just like you, nothing for weeks and then a big drop in a couple of days. I'm prettty happy with it though, I've lost 1/3 of my total weight and feel terrific. I was unable to excercise until the end of February, as I broke my ankle really badly just before surgery. I suspect that slowed things down a bit. I have noticed it picking up a little at a time since I started walking, excercising, and hope it stays that way. My sister had this surgery 18 months ago and continued to lose until about a month ago. She actually is below goal. Don't get discouraged, you'll get there!
