Topic: Join the July 4th challenge! Post your goal weight!
Several of us have set mini-goals to reach by July 4th... July 4th is 9 1/2 weeks or 67 days away. That is a big window for weight loss--even for really slow losers like me! Join the challenge by posting your 4th of July goal weight here! The more, the merrier! Let's be accountable to each other and help anyone who may be a bit off track get back with the program! I started at 410. I am currently at 269. I'd like to be at 250 by July 4th. 19 pounds to lose in 67 days.... That is only a pound every three days or so! I'm game! Lea

Topic: RE: Finally! Anyone want to challenge for a July 4th goal??
Yup - I want in too. I'm stalled at 172. I think 160 will be my target for 7/4 since I am a slow loser. 242/172/125

Topic: RE: Anyone Thinking of Plastics Yet?
Carrie, Girl, you and I are exactly the same (22 to a 10) and goal weights and sizes. I also have been thinking about it all mostly cause of the body changes as well as some of my friends are further out and getting it and I am getting jealous. LOL But I saw my RNY Dr. 2 days ago on an unrelated issue and we discussed the whole PS topic. I am an ICU RN so he talked to me in those terms. He told me to wait til I am 1.5 years post op and here is why: 1. We are still losing weight and to go and do it and then lose more and have more hanging skin would suck. 2. Your body is still healing!!!! Dealing with the reorganizing of organs, nourishment and physically moving around due to loss of fat cells. That is too much trauma too soon. 3. We should do at least 6 months of exercise to see what changes we can make ourselves to save money and to physically handle the changes. 4. exercise will NOT make me lose my extra skin on my tummy but make it stronger to handle the recovery of a pani. 5. I know many people who are having issues with doing it too soon and infection is the main complication cause their bodies were still handing the lack of food. I am BY NO MEANS saying no to you or me for that matter. It is just what we discussed and I am passing it along. This man changed my very world and helped me get here and I trust that. Trust in you and you will make the best decision. Please Please keep me informed and all cause I am still going to get my TT and breast lift, just gotta wait here is all. My b-day is in Feb so I am going to plan for that. hugs, Tanya 261/252/167/140 consult/surgery/current/goal

I am in! Being that my weight loss has slowed down so much I could use a challenge. I am sitting now between 233-235. I am going to set my goal to get to 210. I started at 335. Anyone doing anything special to meet your goals? It's getting warmer here in Florida so I think I will work swimming to help me get there. Darlene

Topic: Finally! Anyone want to challenge for a July 4th goal??
Well, after over 6 weeks hoving in the 270s, I finally--as of yesterday--hit 269 pounds! I have been working on that 9 pounds since very early March! I'm working to make it to 250 by the 4th of July. Christina P is going for 235 by then. Sindarin is working on 200 by then. Anyone else want to challenge for a specific weight by July 4th?? Lea 410/269/175??

Topic: RE: How are you doing?
How is everyone doing now? The scale finally moved some for me. I am down to 225 from 370. Durgery date was 8/23/06 so I am 8 months out with a total loss of 145 lbs. Exciting and wonderful!! I would do the whole thing over in a heartbeat, even with my post op problems. I am shooting for another 45 lbs which would be at 170 (a total of 200lb loss). I would love to be there at my 1 year post op visit in August.... hmmmm how many miles is that on the bike????? LOL

Topic: Any Runners Out There?
I am 9 months post op and am beginning a running program. Are there any post op runners who can give some perspective on hints and tips for a post op runner? I am afraid that the small amount of food we eat may not provide the energy and fuel needed for that type of exercise. Any hints on good foods to eat before a run or any thing else that could be of help? Thanks so much! Sandra
