LeAnne, I am so excited for you. I have not gotten to a nervous part yet, but I can understand feeling that way. This is a big decission for all of us. Let's see, my suggestion.... ummm.... Enjoy a little of something you love to eat before your tummy can not handle it (if you want) and buy some lip balm for the hospital.
Hugs, Aunt Pam

I will be having surgery on August 16th. I'm excited and nervous all in the same breath. Thank God for this board and all the good information I have been getting! I feel good about my decision to have WLS. Best wishes and prayers to all the other members who are having surgery. Any suggestions or comments are appreciated!

Thanks much for the response....I ran out this weekend and purchased the AnyWhey at GNC. I joined a local circuit training facility in my neighborhood this weekend, too. I am approximately four weeks out and would also like to "wake up" my muscles!!! Can't seem to keep my SF popsicles in the freezer....my boyfriend has taken it upon himself to make those his "new favorites" and is going thru them like water! LOL

Hi Kristi -- I am sorry to hear you are freakin' out!!!! This has been a long time in coming for you....I am certain we all will feel the same way too! For stock up stuff, I had cleared out a section of a pantry in the kitchen for "just for me stuff" and I have attempted to do what those who have gone before us advised....don't buy too much of any particular item, as you may not like it once you are post-op. Funniest thing was to see me in the baby food isle!!!! I am still laughing at that one! I think I was making those goofy faces babies make when they eat that stuff just while I was standing there in the isle! I also had read somewhere to make up ice cube trays of different flavors of brooth for when you come home, just makes it easier for you or your caregiver...so, I have been doing that. When did Northwestern tell you to begin taking vitamins?

Thank you so much for responding. It will be okay, I put this heel thing off too long and it really needs to be done. and my insurance is only good for so long anyhow. I'm luckey because I am off work now and I know my husband will help me. I just really feel down about having to move back to where we came from, I love it here. As for your husband let him breath, he must be good for something.

WOW Patricia, I am sorry to hear you are going through all of this. I can relate with the heel spur (although I did not need surgery, thank goodness, but had a cast on for 3 weeks in the sweltering summer with no air!). Do not get discouraged, maybe your ortho doctor can put your heel spur surgery off until after you have the lap band surgery, as far as the husband, mine is lucky he is breathing today !
Topic: August 8th
Hi All,
I need to get a heel spur surgery on July 28th and then the lap band on August 8th. I know I have to walk in the hospital, and at home because of that gas etc. yet the foot surgery says off the feet for 2 weeks and they give a boot and crutches. Plus my husband wants to move Oct. 1st and I hate him now, I fear I won't be better. Can't even get excited about loosing the weight now, just so sad.

I am sure every single one of us feels the same way!
I am at a calm spell right now - but since my date is a only a week away I am sure these next couple days will find me in a heap of emotions!!!
You are NOT alone - we are ALL here for ya!

I just updated my profile with almost the same thing!
First - calm down. It is going to be OK! I am sure you will be fine and anything that is NOT done can either wait - or let someone else do!
Just focus on the essentials!
Do you have your post op vitamins and food for at least your first couple weeks?
Is you bag packed and all hospital essentials taken care of (living will, power of attorney, out of pocket fees, registration).
Family/friends notified (kids/pets taken care of, Support person at hospital, phone numbers written down for support person to call, ride home arranged)
Work situtation (drs note for being off, when to expect you back, arrangements made for your work load while you are gone, caught up with stuff)
I am not sure if all of these apply to you - but that is just some things that have been running through MY head! I have been in this process for over a year, so I have had LOTS of time to get things in order and research!
I am on the same day, so I know how you feel. If you ever want to talk just to release some stress, feel free too! we are all here for ya..
