Hello Shannon, I am with you there mine is also on the 15th. And my husband is getting ready to go away for a while for work like 3 weeks after surgery for me. How about a nice short walk in the park at sunset. I know we will not be going out to dinner on our anniversary either, since he'll be gone. I am sure he is going to be pleased to do this after you get out of the hospital. Invite him to drink one of your protein shakes with you to celebrate, or some nice chicken broth. And let them see you are going in eyes wide open with a full understanding of possible outcomes. For me the book and its no bones about it streight talk worked. They got to see for themselves.
