Hi All,
My surgery is one week from today. I am nervous as heck. I have been sitting on OH for hours at a time just trying to occupy my mind. Tomorrow I'm going camping for three days. I am hoping that will be a good distraction. When I return its clean, clean, clean the house, pack my suitcase, and worry worry worry. How are you guys coping with all the waiting and nerves??

I am on August 7th too! I am trying to finish up work here and get done by Friday the 4th. I start new job on the 28th so I will have 3 weeks off to recover. Best to all! Chris

You hit the nail on the head - Twilight Zone - What is to come of us? - How much will our lives be changed forever? I am August 8th and I feel so at odds. I want the surgery. I'm scared that something will go wrong. I'm scared to not be able to eat what I want to. I'm excited to be thin. I'm scared to be thin. And on and on and on...

Yeppppp, been there and doing that! Yesterday I was scrubbing the kitchen floor, singing and having a good time with my IPod...then FFRREEAAKKEEDD out for no reason...lol, now I find it comical!

Thank you for your speedy feedback and support. I haven't read the Barbara Thompson book ou referred to, but interestingly she co-authored Weight Loss Sugery for Dummies with my surgeon! The problem with that book is the lack of stats on successful weight maintance post-surgery. I look forward to reading Babara's other book, so thank you for the recommendation.

PS - I just set up my first therapy appointment for later this week so I can start working on some of my feelings. I think the first thing on the agenda will be the family dynamic!
