I've been with 5 different people when they've come out of recovery for lap RNY. Pain was controlled with a morphine pump that was replaced with liquid Roxicet. They had gas pain, but that was helped with walking. Nausea was minimal, but relates to how you deal with being put under and how quickly you drink after the procedure. Don't chug anything after surgery. Walk, sip. Walk, sip.

Let's see...I have exactly 2 weeks to go... So far I have - 1) Packed my bag (fuzzy slippers, DVD player/DVDs (which my mom will guard for me), books, cross-stitch (hey, I may feel up to it!), my phone book, cell phone charger, camera, etc.) 2) Cleaned the house from top to bottom (I found dust bats in the corners of my closets!) 3) Bought chicken/beef broth, crystal light, isopure's (a couple of cases - they are good - taste like watered down koolaid), sugar-free jello and pudding, prosource protein powder, sugar-free applesause, liquid tylenol (I don't want to be on narcotics very long), and all my vitamins for once I come home. I still have some shopping to do. 4) Going to the gym everyday (It works out the nervous energy in a good way) 5) Proud to say I have not fallen into the "Last Meal" syndrome yet!

I have had my July 31st date changed, due to doctor emergency! Now I am rescheduled for Aug. 3rd. for my surgery at 6:30 a.m. Hopefully it won't change again. But hay, were all together!!!!!!!!Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!LOSERS HERE WE COME!!!!!!!

Hey Kevin! I am on the 1st and gosh I better get stuff together huh! I have put off getting the vitamins and food so I wouldn't become too nervous or excited. I accomplished me getting nervous and excited cuz now I need to go shopping at the last minute! Good luck to all upcoming surgeries! My prayers are for all! Angel
