Hey Judy...happy anniversary to US all..... Wow yeah its freaky when you catch a glimpse in the mirror...my new profile pic is one that blew my mind. My sister took it last week and when I saw it I was like WHAT no way is that ME...it actually looks like a pic of me 19 years ago after I had my son. My tummy isnt as happy as it has always been....its getting picky. snacks seem to be what works best for me which isnt good. Im STUCK at 160...I have seen 159 ONCE and not since...so I pray it moves again. Im afraid my surgeon followup next month will have them yelling at me for only loosing 68 in a year! So many changes have taken place this past year...I feel so blessed! My husband has done an about face and is all "up my butt"...I have mixed feelings about that...not sure how that will end. (Why couldnt he be loving and kind when I was fat)...oh well God will handle it. congrats to you all!

Topic: RE: 11 months out......What are yall eating??
I had my surgery on August 1st, and I'm scared of a lot of foods LOL! I hear how sick some foods have made other people and I avoid them like the plague. I eat a lot of soups, beans, and just started to add salads with protein (eggs, chicken, cheese, etc.). I can eat a little of most proteins - chicken, steak, most seafood, although shrimp for some reason sticks and I can't eat it. We had scallops at the Japanese restaurant the other day that were so good, I think I could have eaten them all day. I'm using protein bars in place of the shakes, even though I know the protein isn't as beneficial. I've just always had a hard time with the shakes, and some of the bars are really tasty. The Power Crunch bars are almost like cheating! I've had a bit of a taste of no sugar added ice cream. It hit the spot at the time, but not something I'd buy every week (plus, for the first time ever in my life, the half gallon lasted a couple of weeks). And when I feel like something snacky, I eat either some sliced up cheese, pretzels with cream cheese or peanut butter, or crackers with peanut butter. I am down 140 pounds, from 295 to 155. My goal was 165, which is what I weighed when I got married. I would like to get to 140 now that I hit that goal, but my weight loss has pretty much stopped.

I usually have three protein drinks a day for 60 grams and then eat the rest to hit somewhere between 80 and 100 grams. I still don't each much bread and I definitely don't eat pasta...makes me hurt. I don't eat anything with more then 10 grams of sugar. I hit somewhere around 900 calories a day. I've lost 143 pounds and am 38 away from my goal. I would of like to hit my goal before my 1 year appointment but I don't think that's going to happen...but it's ok. Every pound lost is a step in the right direction. Congratulations to all of us! We deserve it after all this hard work. LeAnne

Who do you see looking back at you in the mirror? A MUCH HAPPIER me! Do you recognize him or her? Yes, shocked at times, but thoroughly appreciate it each and every time! Enjoy and have a great week! Go to Fitday.com and log in what you are eating. Once I did this and found out I ate 1600 in one day. No wonder I haven't been loosing as I thought I should. You should track what you eat daily and this way you can see how the calories add up even though we are not eating much, they do add up. I go on a kick of eating too many pistachio nuts. Now I have to not buy them to keep me from eating them. Too many are not good. Too much fat and calories add up. Hugs, Lavon

I sure wish I could have a week of loosing 10 lbs. That would be wonderful. The weight is coming off so slowly now. However, it makes me evaluate what i am eating and keeps me going to the gym. So it has picked up in the last week I have lost 2 lbs. I want to continue that trend till I get to 120#. I will take it one day at a time. I had surgery 8/9/2006 and have lost 91 lbs. I now weigh 138 which is the weight I used to weigh 28 yrs ago. The 1st time I started my weight lost jurney was before my son was born in 1980. I am 4'11" and hit my all time high of 138 and joined WW and lost 30 lbs to 108 and became a life time member. I sure wish I would have stuck with going to my free meetings I was eligible to attend if I stayed within a certain number of lbs from my goal weight. That was the biggest mistake. You see I have lost and gain back plus 15 more each time I tried to loose in the past and over the last 28 yrs I gain 100#. Now with this surgery, I have been able to loose the 91 lbs. It has been 101# since 2/2006. Hugs, Lavon

I can eat just about anything I want. Today we had raw oysters brought up from Fla! OMG they went down so nicely!!! I am sure I got my protein in today LOL Usually I have either a protein shake (Body Fortress) or high protein Oatmeal for breakfast with a cup of coffee. For snacks I use the 100 calorie snack bags. These are for when I just gotta have something salty crunchy. Hits the spot! Lunch is usually either a can of tuna with just a little mustard (mayo still makes me sick as does most oils) or a couple of slices of roast beef (4 slices from the deli is 1/4 a lb!) Dinners are rough for me as I still don't like to cook for the family. I make something quick and simple for the children and then struggle to get something that I even want to eat. I am planning on dragging out the crockpot this week and start making dinner again. I usually make a large (as in monster) pot of something on Fridays. Soup or chili... and we eat on it Friday night and all day on Saturday. Sunday we eat out for lunch and dinner with couples from the church. I started at 370 and weighed this morning in at 201... almost in the 1++ range. I can hardly wait until the scale starts with a 1..... My 1 yr apt is the 24th of August. One year and one day.... The doctor said if I was under 200 lbs he would consider the surgery a sucess. So I guess it will be, but I wanted to be at the 170 range. That was probably a bit of a stretch but I am so happy with here I am now compared to a year ago.
