Hi, I had my surgery on 8/31/06 and I too was feeling really dizzy when I stood up. I was told its from not drinking enough. ONe of the first signs of dehydration. I find if I drink protein shakes (low carb slimfast) in the can I can get my breakfast in. I am too busy when I get up to stop and eat and this way I dont have to make it. Hope this helps. Sharon

I did not try to hide my surgery. I asked to be put on the prayer bulletin at my church, with the specific type of surgery listed next to my name. Today I went back to church for the first time after my surgery and got hugs and well wishes and people asking me how I feel and people encouraging me with news of friends they had that had the same surgery in the past. My thinking was, I couldn't hide my obesity, why hide my surgery. They know I am fat. They will watch me lose the weight. So what if they know how. Stand proud. Having WLS takes courage and strength and anyone who gossips about it is not worth your time or energy. Hugs, Trish

I can't get breakfast in either. If I do then I can't get all my water or protien drink in. I think I get less than 500 cal. too. I wondered if that is why I'm getting dizzy when I stand up. Anybody else have this problem?

Hold your head up high be proud and brag with the drop of every pound to all the nosie peoples that found it hard to keep your secert and to the ones that have called to say haha I know what you did. dont care about what people think now, now you are going to lose your weight and be proud of the way your did/ are doing it. tell people they might think this was the easy way, but the hell if it is. it is far from easy. But most importantly you owe no explanations to anyone person, and that is what you should say. SO HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH AND SMILE WITH EVERY POUND YOU DROP. Kelli

I look for things that are protein packed. For lunch most days I have an omelet- 1 egg with 1/3 c. milk approx. and some grated cheddar cheese...lots of protein and filling too. I have put other things in it, green peppers, mushrooms, ham, salsa.. for a tex mex omelet. Tuna casserole is good too, put a can of tuna, can of cream of celery soup (or cream of chicken or cream of mushroom if you dont have celery), onions, celery (if you like) and 1 cup of water and about 1 cup of chow mein noodles. Bake or microwave together, it is very good! Other than that I am eating most foods that I am making for my family. This morning I made belgian waffles, and I could only eat 1/4 of one...I wanted more they tasted so good..but I need to listen to the pouch. Cindy

Well I tried to keep my WLS a secret. Only my parents, my sister and 2 close friends knew. My sister in law called me the other day to tell me that so and so told her that that was my surgery. And she had heard it from another. Both of those women are terrible gossips. I know it will be around town now. I hate being talked about, am sensitive about my weight issues and this makes me quite upset. I know there is nothing I can do about it, but it still really bothers me, in fact I did not sleep well because of it last night. I live in a small town (500 people) where everyone knows everyone and their business too. Any suggestions? I am in a real funk because of it.

There are a lot of great soups out there, both canned and homemade. I listed some starter food recipes on my profile that you are welcome to use. Good luck and take it slow!

I know what you mean about being nervous. But, I guess I'll try anything once, unless they tell me to definitely not have it... ha ha I hear once is all it will take... ha ha I've been doing lousy with this nasty sinus, cold, flu thing. But, I am feeling better today. I took some Mucinex and it has helped a lot. I had a few of those Hall's breezers cough drops and some Vitamin C drops. I took some stress tab vitamins too. I'm almost as good as new. I have a congested cough every once in a while. But other than that, I guess I"m good. Still waiting on that call for surgery. I'm going to call them on Monday. Hugs, Sharee

Hello everyone. I'm not doing too well on my post op diet I'm not eating bad foods but sometimes I realize that I don't have breakfast. Like today. AND I'm not able to get in all of my liquids. B - WATER L- Tofu with onions and some hot curry sauce (less than 1 gram of sugar) D- String cheese S- may have some s.f. pudding. I'll make it with skim milk or lactaid I'm thinking I may not be eating enough. I'm sure that is no where near 500 calories. Is that what we should be eating by now?
