For future rainy days get Leslie Sansome's "Walk Away the Pounds" DVD. You walk in place to music with her. She is great.
Also, calm yourself with meditation, prayer, listening to soothing music, crochet, knit, journaling, these are all things I try to do to not eat like I used to.
Hugs,
Trish

Topic: RE: Question about calories
I am almost 8 weeks out and getting in about 400-500.
Somedays it is REALLY hard to do that to! Pretty amazing.
I am concentrating more on water and protien and do not really count calories.
Topic: RE: Anyone else have a wound infection?
Well, I went to my pcp this week for another reason, but I had her look at my incision that was still not healed. She did a culture and put me on antibiotics. They called today and said it is staph. Yuck. I am so glad I went. I am going to let the physician's assistant know when I go in for my 6 week check up at the surgeons. She did not take a cultrure even though I told her there was junk coming out of it. Yuck. I am glad I have been on the antibiotics for a couple of days. It already looks better. I know that staph infections can be really bad if not treated promptly.
Just an fyi if you have a wound that is not healing............have the dr check it throughly!

Well I use ISOPURE low carb shakes with 2% milk.
I had my lap on 14th they had to keep me on Phenergan the whole time thinking it was just the meds but on the 15th same thing. They wheeled me out I told them I did not feel good. My wife drove me home I came home got in bed was feeling real bad then I started throwing up all night long. My doctor was at a different hospital that day he said to come up there in er went they found my old stomach had 3 liters of fluid and was about to burst. they went back in drained old stomach and put in drain tubes they looked for blockage but found none. It was not till like 4 days later I went to xray they injected die into drain tube to find blockage but they were not good xrays after that it started draining on its on.

Yep, that's me too. Surgery 8/8. Lost 40 and then came to a screeching halt. It's been nearly 2 weeks but this morning I was down 1 lb. so I've got my fingers crossed that it is over. I know how you feel though. It's a scarey thing. I got this from another posting. It helped me put it in perspective.

Hi Reggie,
I can't drink shakes either. They hurt! My nutritionist said to leave them alone so I think I'll follow her advice. Also, my surgeon doesn't advocate the use of protien drinks. He wants us to get protein from food.
What happened that they had to go back in and change to an open procedure for you?
By the way, where is your town in TX? I used to live outside New Braunfels just north of San Antonio. I don't miss the heat.

Carol, Thanks for the reply. Yes! the same re-birth day. I lost 26 lbs pre-surgery. I have lost 23 since surgery. I am feeling fine, and my incision has healed. No complications, thank goodness. It is getting cooler here in Minnesota, so I dont want to go outside to walk as much lately. I must start using my treadmill. Best wishes to you, keep me posted on your progress..Sue
