i was under the impressinon that it wasnt good for us to ever eat bread again, unless some of the low carb hi fiber bread under 9 grams of carbs per slice. and then maybe only one slice a day. and that would bebetter if toasted.
there are a lot of things that will just have to be no nos for us from now on im afraid.
I think you are rushing your eating a little and that is why you are back on a soft diet. i wouldnt begin to try steak yet and my surgery was 8/14

Topic: Liquid Protein
I went to an informal support group meeting that I attend every month and one of the ladies gave me some Liquid Protien that is a fruit flavor. I tried it and its not bad at all.
Its called New Whey Liquid Protien and its in a 2.9 FL oz tube for 2.50 I think. They have a few flavors, I tried the fruit punch and it tasted pretty good. One vial has 25Grams of Protien. She found it at The Vitamin Shop in Orlando but there is a web site if anyone is interested. I personally could not down the shakes they were aweful.
Its a company called IDS and their web site is www.idssports.com

Boy do I feel like I am not from another planet now. I feel the same exact way. I am 9 weeks post op now and I am down 45 lbs. I have not even lost a size with 45lbs of weight loss. My clothes are very lose and I am getting into the next size down but barely. I am a compulsively on the scale too and I stall for a week and then inch very slowly a pound at a time.
I am having a hard time getting my protien and water down. Not having too many problems with foods, I have gotten sick a few times but not too badly.
I was glad to read this post it makes me feel like I am not alone. Then again that is probably the point to the forum.

HI!
Unfortunately, we can't give up. It isn't like every other diet we have tried we are here and have to deal with where we are.
Yesterday was an awful for me. I worked the night before, slept most of the day and then went back to work for 6 hours.....so when did I eat, get my water in...I didn't! I was so mad at myself and also at work....because I can't do that anymore. I woke up this morning to a totally dry mouth...I mean, no moisture what so ever.
For the first time since surgery....I believe I will actually get in 64 ounces of fluid today!
I don't weigh so I have no idea what I have lost...last count was 30 pounds, which makes me a slow looser. I too work out ..4 times a week. I try daily to get in at least 60 grams of protein in daily...the water has been a big struggle for me. I get in my vitamins daily.
Aunt Flo is awful....last month she was so kind and I blew up 10 pounds! That was really nice and made me feel like crap.
I have stopped reading profiles because each one I have read has a steady weight loss and size drop...I am only down one size. So the good news is I can still wear my clothes...and that is also the bad news.
I am right there with you!
Hugs,
Traci

Hey all. I have some questions about where you are all at. I had my RNY on 8/15/2006. I have been to the point where I could eat steak and veggies and stuff, but am now on a soft diet again due to some irritation in my stoma. The question I have for you all is: do you eat bread? I havent had a slice of bread in over two months, and I would really like to try sandwhiches and things soon. The only bakery type items i have eaten are crackers (saltines and low sodium wheat thins) and the occasional bit of tortilla or pita. i am not a huge bread fiend, but there are so many things out there that are tasty, and need bread to hold them.....

I am in that boat with you! I was 6 weeks out Tuesday and have only lost 24 lbs. I work out every day, I get most of my water and protein in, I eat only what my dr has told me is ok. Yet I am losing very slow. And yes Aunt Flow does not help with any situation!

Hi. Do any of you guys feel like giving up ?? I am having such a hard day today.
I am tired of counting carbs, protein, pills, water, etc.... I am 7 weeks post op and down 40 pounds and happy about that, but I feel like I am not going to lose any more.
The scale is stuck and I have my period, once again (3rd time since surgery)
I have my 2 month checkup on Friday and I know I am going to be bloated.
I have eaten so much today and I feel guilty about it.. HELP !!!!!

welcome Casey... If you read further back, i too was addicted to my scale... my husband has since made an intervention and removed it from my bathroom and gives it back to me every other monday. LOL but i have kept my sence of humor about it all, i think it makes it easier. Congrats on the weight loss and keep up the good work. Your at the point now where "most" of us had a stahl of some sort. but just laugh at it and keep reminding yourself.. "when was the last time you lost 40lbs in 4 weeks"...lol. Nice to meet you. Thanks, Dani
