Are you at your goal? I have a question
I am only 15 lbs from my goal. I went in for my 12 month post op and weighed 135lb. I am 4'11" so I originally had my goal to get to 115 but lately changed it to 120. The PA I saw at the Dr office said she would be okay if I stayed at 135. I told her I wanted to get to 120 and she said that Gastric Bypass patients look too thin if they get to goal.
So what about you? Do you look too thin? Everyone at work is staying I look good and don't need to loose anymore. I am bottom heavy and really think the rest of the 15 more lbs will come from my hips and thighs. Some think I will loose more in my face, neck and upper body. I don't think so, but if that is the case, I may slow my weight loss down.
Let me know how your experience has been. For more info I started at 239 so have lost 104 lbs so total I will loose will be 119 if I get to my goal of 120. I have been exercising at the gym since Sept 2006 (one week after my surgery in 8/2006)
Any help you can give will be appreciated.
Blessing,
Lavon
hi Lavon;
I am four pounds higher than my original goal of 150. I am 5'2", 46 years old.
People have been telling me for months that I had gone far enough, and actually, I feared losing "too much" - some of the women at our support group seem almost skeletal... I am wearing a size four now, so I would agree that 154 is small enough.
When I went for my annual check up, the scale showed that my body fat was at 17%... at my age, 25% is "healthy".
My surgeon says that he'll be happy if I stay between 140 and 160. I'd like to lose that last four pounds so that I have a few pounds to "play with", but if I don't, as long as I fit in my fours (or even my sixes comfortably), I'm satisfied!
Great job, Lavon!
