My two recent wow moments

Hi Everybody, I haven't posted much recently as I had knee replacement surgery just over a month ago. I have been pretty much cooped up in the house for the last several weeks going stir crazy. I had to share a couple wow moments I have had recently. The first one happened a couple weeks ago, I was finally able to put weight on my leg so I could get a fairly accurate weight and I am down to 152 lbs which means I now have a normal BMI. This was a huge accomplishment for me. That is about 108 lbs since August 2nd. I have my next followup with Dr. Gallagher on June 1st so we will see what he has to say but I am personally very satisfied and I don't care if I don't lose another pound. Now for my wow moment yesterday. My sister and her husband and his mom and I all went shopping at a local outlet mall. It was my first big outing since my knee surgery and believe me we were out just about all day. I knew I wanted to buy some clothes because I don't have much of anything left that fits. Well I have gone from a snug 24 pants to an 8 - 10 (depending on the cut). As for shirts I used to wear an xl to 1x and am now in small -medium. The only unfortunate thing is that the girls are now a deflated 34 B down from a full 38 C. I was just so giddy and found it so hard to believe that I could get my big butt into a size 8. Oh well I will stop for now just wanted to share my good news. Hope everyone is well. Patty

Congratulations on the clothing sizes. That is awesome. I went from size 28 pants to 18 so far. My bra was 46C and is now 42B. I am not at goal weight yet, but I am hopeful to be there soon. Hugs, Trish

Hi Trish, Thank you. It sounds like you are doing great also. I am technically not at goal, when I started this my goal was 150 so I have a couple pounds to get there. As I am thinking about it I wouldn't mind losing another 12 pounds or so just so that if I ever get back up to 150 I know to hit the brakes and get back to basics. Take Care, Patty

Patty, Congrats girl on your WOW!!!!! Between the RNY and then knee surgery, you are rocking and taking names as you go. It takes so many times of putting on the smaller clothes and it never sinks in does it. You ROCK GIRL The girls disappearing is happening here as well. I was a solid 40 DD when I was officially measured for a bra (I was trying to wear a 38 C- LOL) Now I went back to the same store cause I ran out of good bras months ago and I am now a 36 B!!!!! I buy Victoria secret Bras now as they give the girls a perky lift- then I take it off and they look like a tube socks Keep up the great work. Hi Tanya, Thank you so much. It has been quite a wild ride. At times I see the thin person coming out and there are times I still think I am the fat girl. I guess it just takes time for the head to catch up with the body. To change so much in 10 months is just beyond comprehension. I see we share rebrithdays. Yes you are right I bought 3 more pairs of size 8's yesterday and still don't believe it. You are doing a great job on your journey as well. I peak over on the Texas board every now and again to check on how Tom and Que are doing and I saw that you were having some trouble a couple months ago. I see by your profile that you had surgery. Are you doing okay now? I know how hard it must have been to be flat on your back for so long. I do hope this find you feeling great. As for the girls I will have to go to victoria secret and see if some of their bras can work some magic for me. LOL Take Care and Keep up the good work. Patty

Hi Christina, Thank you so much and it is flippin' fantabulous!!! Never in my life have I ever worn a size 8. I went straight from kids clothes to like a size 14, and then higher and higher as I got older. To go from a tight 24 to a size 8 in 10 months is just so wild. It doesn't seem real sometimes. I hope all is going well with your journey and congrats on your daughters graduation. Patty

Congrats! I started dancing around in the fitting room when I "got into" a size 16... not that I wanted to sit or breathe but they ZIPPED!!! I bought the 18's and can at least sit down! LOL Sherryl 8/23 370, 6/18 213

Hi Sherryl, Wow you have done a tremendous job over 150 lbs in less than a year. Great, great job. I am so happy for you. This shopping thing could get addictive. It is funny when I walk by Lane Bryant I still want to walk in and see if they have any good sales, but I realize they don't have one thing that would fit me now. I see by your profile that you live in Florence, KY, I don't know where Florence is but I have several relatives that live in Pikeville over in Eastern KY. I will be visiting them in August and can't wait to see them all. None of them have seen me since surgery so it will be interesting. Keep up the good work and congratulations. Patty
