Join the July 4th challenge! Post your goal weight!
Several of us have set mini-goals to reach by July 4th... July 4th is 9 1/2 weeks or 67 days away. That is a big window for weight loss--even for really slow losers like me! Join the challenge by posting your 4th of July goal weight here! The more, the merrier! Let's be accountable to each other and help anyone who may be a bit off track get back with the program!
I started at 410.
I am currently at 269.
I'd like to be at 250 by July 4th.
19 pounds to lose in 67 days.... That is only a pound every three days or so! I'm game!
Lea
Hi!
I've added you to the list and you make 67 people in the challenge! All future messages pertaining to this challenge group will be posted to the main board and will have "July 4th Mini-Challenge" as part of the message subject line. We'll be having a weekly roll call on Mondays, so try to check in each Monday or Tuesday to update your current weight and answer any question of the week that is part of the roll call message!
The clock is ticking and we have 65 days to work toward our goals!
Hugs,
Lea
Hey!
We have the same surgery date! How has your loss been lately? I've only lost 31 pounds since Jan 1st and, after losing 110 by then, I really expected the quicker loss to stick around at least a little longer! I have been losing inches, but that is harder to notice as you have to whip out the measuring tape and figure it all out as opposed to just stepping on a scale!
Hugs,
Lea
Hi Lea and all,
I too have really not lost as fast since January...8 pounds in January, 3 in February, 8 in March and only 3 in April (23 total). I have lost inches too and that has been nice. Before I read about your challenge I decided I needed my own kick in my butt. I wrote three things down last weekend.
1. Drink water- at least 8 glasses, try waterloading before a meal
2. Exercise! - Walk at least 5x a week, go to gym, bike, swim, golf or play ball ( I help coach my daughter's team) at least 3x week. Use weights for arms at least 3x per week, do stomach exercises at least 3x week.
3. Limit snacking high sugar/high fat foods
back on the wagon,
Cindy
I haven't posted in awhile but I would like to join the challenge. I am only 9lbs from goal but have not excercised to firm up or increase energy. My daughters wedding is Aug. 3 in Texas HOT so I would like to be able wear some sleeveless outfits to stay cool. But hate for my "wings" to show. My loss has slowed down drastically since I hit 6 month mark. Dr. said he was fine where I was at 6 months 65% of weight lost. He said I may only lose 10 or 15lb more pounds but still lose inches. I have only lost about 6lbs this month but have dropped an entire size in 3 weeks. I never know what I am going to do. I was stuck for 6 weeks then lose a couple then bounce up then stick. I am so close but at times it feels so far. I haven't excercised at all except for some walking arthritis & back pain are still an issue pain in my right hip keeps me from being enthusiastic about excercise. I am using a TENS unit for pain relief. I really miss anti inflamatories.
Let'**** the Gym!
Hi Jenny!
Sorry to hear about the pain situation. I am happy that mine has improved, but still have a ways to go. I certainly know what you mean about the pain keeping you from getting too enthusiastic about exercise!
You still need to post all your numbers
start weight
current weight
goal for 7/4
I've added you to the list, but need your complete numbers to finish adding you!
Great to have you as part of the group!
Lea
Great idea Lea...I need a kick start....Im STUCK in a rutt lately...
I havent even been online here in like 9 weeks...that is horrible.
I swore I was NOT going to be one of those people who forgot what got me where I am today.
I havent lost anything at all in 3 months...the same few pounds over and over up and down.
I started at 228
am currently 165..(it wont budge)
and want to be 155 by July...then 150 by my one year anniv on 8/28!
You guys help me! Im so bad about drinking protein and I get snack attacks and snacks go down better than anything....please pray for me. I need it!
Im in...lets do this!
Hi Pam!
I know what you mean about a rut! I feel like I am in one too.... I am eating pretty much the same stuff each day/week. I am exercising the same way more or less. And I am NOT losing much--5 or 6 pounds per month this last few months. I am in the process of trying to shake things up a bit--try new foods, different exercise methods (like push mowing our 2 1/2 acre yard) and such. I'm hoping that this along with the warm weather and more opportunities to SWEAT will help get me moving (as in the scale) faster again...
Glad to have you aboard!
Lea
