How much weight have you lost since Jan 1st??
I am soooooo sick of this long stall I've been in.
Surgery was 8/29. I had already lost 24 pounds at that time. I lost a total of 110 by Jan 1st of this year. BUT, I have only lost 25 pounds since then! I lost a few the first week of Jan, but stalled the rest of the month. Then, I lost 11 pounds the first 9 days of Feb and stalled the rest of THAT month. I lost down to 276 by mid March. But, I've only lost one more pound since then (almost a month now). I console myself with the fact that I have lost 46 inches since Jan 1st, despite only losing 25 pounds. BUT, I really, really, REALLY want to see that danged scale start moving again! LOL I have not even weighed myself since the middle of last week now as I am so disgusted with not losing. Maybe I'll get weighed on Monday or Weds and find that I've dropped into the 260s, but I'm sure not holding my breath on that hope!
I started at 410 on July 13th and wore .
I had surgery at 386 on 8/29.
I lost my first 100 by Dec 22 (had made it a goal by Christmas).
Then this danged stall started after New Year's.
So, I'm now at 275 and my goal is 175. I'd be happy with anything that started with a ONE to tell you the truth--weight AND clothing sizes! So, I'd be happy to see like 195 and get into a size 18! I'm currently moving from 26s into 22/24s. I started out in size 36W, so that is a 6 pants size drop. I AM happy about that...don't get me wrong! But, I want to think that my honeymoon isn't over yet and I'm not going to lose just 6 or 8 pounds per month from here on out....
SO, how are the rest of you doing? How many pounds have you lost now total?? How many pounds since Jan 1st? How many inches have you lost???
Hugs,
Lea
410/275/175?
We have the same surgery date. I lost really fast in the beginning, 48 lbs in 48 days. My total now is 109. I am loosing just like you, nothing for weeks and then a big drop in a couple of days. I'm prettty happy with it though, I've lost 1/3 of my total weight and feel terrific. I was unable to excercise until the end of February, as I broke my ankle really badly just before surgery. I suspect that slowed things down a bit. I have noticed it picking up a little at a time since I started walking, excercising, and hope it stays that way. My sister had this surgery 18 months ago and continued to lose until about a month ago. She actually is below goal. Don't get discouraged, you'll get there!

My surgery was 8/23. I hit the 100 lb mark on Christmas day which was a goal for me. I have only lost another 40 since then. The stalls are tough, I will go 2-3 weeks and lose nothing and then drop 7 lbs. Strange.
I do know that if I am not pushing 90+ oz of liquid and the same in protein I don't lose.
I don't think we are done, just our bodies taking a break to catch up.
370/230/??175 goal
I've lost an incredible 140 pounds since my surgery 08-22-06 I've made it to Onederland as of this morning whoohoo coocookechoo... I have about 40 more pounds to go, doc says 30 i say 40, really would like to get to 150 however i'll get to his 170 with prayer and then shoot for my 160, maybe after tummy tuck 150 will happen.... Congrats on your progress and don't give up, i'm at a point too where i'll go for a week or two at the same weight and even gain apound some days and then lose 3 so go figure....
lets see...I started out at 310 on 8/24/06
by 1/1/07 I had lost down to 199 - which is 111 gone
at the end of january I had to have an emergency surgery..my intestines had twisted..left the hospital 1 week later around 197
since 2/5/07 I have only lost 12 more lbs and that is since the first of april...finally started losing again..
so today I am at 184...total of 126 lbs down and 49 to get to goal...we are shooting for 135 (I am only 5'3")
I upped my protein to 80-90 grams and I think that made the difference...I have been exercising religiously since the surgery...cardio 5 xs per week and weights 3 times per week..
you guys are all doing great....and you are great inspiration....
Christy
Christy,
You and I are pretty much on track...you win by a hair! lol
I am also 5'3", I was 309 before surgery on 8/31 and I am now
188.
Since Jan. 1, I've lost 45 lbs.
My surgery said he expected to me to get to 170 lbs., but I'm
aiming for 150 so I have 38 lbs. to go. The weight loss has
slowed significantly but that's okay - it'll give my body and skin
a chance to catch up.
Keep up the good work!
Jane
Hi, good post.
I had surgery on the 28th of August, was 285 and am now 198. I have not lost as much since January, in fact I only lost 3 pounds in February. My goals have changed, my doctor says 1 to 2 pounds a week is what he wants to see. I lost 20 in total the last 3 months.
Also I think it is right what you say Jane about giving your body and skin a chance to catch up. Even though I havent lost as much in the last 3 months I feel so much better and actually glad it has slowed down...just so long as it doesnt stop! lol I want to lose another 25 to 35 pounds. I know I need to get exercising more and using those weights to help the arm flab.
Well that is my goal for the next few weeks, get back into exercising, I have slacked off somewhat...back to walking, treadmill and gym...heck I guess I better bring out the bike too...I think for me variety is important....going to switch it up....and also use those weights...even if I use them during the commercials while watching tv....
how about you guys? try not to think so much of the pounds...but things that you can do to make yourself healthier...
love luck and laughter,
Cindy
My weightloss slowed down big time since Christmas. I have lost 27lbs since Christmas. Thats an average of 6-7lbs a month. I see the advantages of it slowing down but am terrified it will stop. I have not exercised much but now that its getting warmer I know in summer I will swim alot. I started at 335 and I am down to 233. I was size 26-28 and am now in 18-20's.
Hey chick, I started at 320 lbs 5'10. I had sugery on 8/25, and by christmas i had lost 81 lbs. Then in january I lost 10 lbs, February 13 lbs, March 9 lbs, April so far is 20 lbs, but I also started smoking again this month from stress, I went 7 months without smoking, and then boom!!! It hits me, and I started again, and from that I have lost alot more this month, which I would NEVER suggest that, but that has been my situation, since you asked. I want to get to 160 which means I have 28 more lbs to go, and my doc says he wants to do a tt after i get to 180, so we will see. Great post! Try one thing at a time to see if it jump starts your weight loss again, exercising, protein, etc... ((((hugs)))) Bekah
I had surgery 8/9/2006 and as of today I have lost 86 lbs, 10 before surgery so a total of 96 since 2/2006. My weight loss has also slowed down to 3 - 4 lbs a month and for the last one almost at a plateau. I will loose, then gain two lbs, then loose that 2 lbs then stay there then loose one lb then gain 1 or 2 and then loose than and the cycle continues. I wish I didn't gain and just keep on loosing I would loose faster.
However, I figured out that after 6 months, I stopped keeping track of what I was eating. I can eat more now and thought I wasn't eating that much. When I finally tracked my cal. one day I had 1600, so no wonder. Now I am going to Fitday.com and keeping track of my eating. I have to be careful what I choose to eat and be mindful of it. I need to stay away from too many nuts, they are full of cal and fats.
For the last two weeks, I have added Sat to my Mon, Wed and Friday day at the gym. I have a goal to loose done from 229 before surgery to 133 at my 12 month post op appt. I am now wearing a size 8. It all depends on the outfit, so some 8's I can't wear, so I am between 8 - 12. I am only 4'11 so I really should shoot for 115 overall but if I can get to 133 by 8/2007, I will be happy. That's the goal I set with my Dr at my 9 months. I plan to do it. That will be 96 down (106 since 2/2006). I hope I actually get to the 100# marked, that would be great.
Lets keep up the good work and get motivated for the future to continue making better choices in eating and exercise. Remember the surgery is only a tool, we can't go back to our old ways. We can gain it all back you know.
God Bless you all,
Lavon
