How are you doing?
I am just curious about how much everyone is losing. I will be 7 months out of the 28th and I am down 80lbs. I have stalled some and my drs office says I'm eating too much! I feel like I am eating nothing some days. They tell me 3 oz at a time. Has anyone else been told this? I have 15 - 20lbs more to go. Help.....! What are you eating?
Hi Kelley, I had my surgery on 8/22 so tomorrow I will be 7 months out and since surgery I have lost 82 lbs and I lost 23 lbs pre-op. I am down a total of 105 lbs which is wonderful but I still have 50 more to go! I have been staying pretty much the same (within 10 lbs) for the last 2 months. I do not eat breakfast because my vitamens and pills fill me up. I drink hot tea (black) in the morning. Usually 2 cups, sometimes 3. For lunch today I had 3 oz of chicken salad I made with a small amount of reduced fat miracle whip and relish. I had that on about 15 reduced fat wheat thins. I also had 1/2 cup of my protien pudding. I could not drink the protien shakes so I use the powder in fat free, sugar free pudding that I make with 1% milk. It ends up being 17 grams of protien in one serving. I will have a 60 calorie yogurt this afternoon after my walk. Not sure what I am having for dinner yet but usually I have a w.w. dinner or some chicken or fish. I hope this helps.
I can eat a whole small Wendy's chili now and I used to eat about half. I can eat pretty close to a whole ww meal. On the cheese ravioli one I will only have 2 raviolis left that I can't eat. I hope I am not done losing yet. Maybe I am eating too much.
I exercise quite a bit but have not tried weights yet. I am thinking of trying that. Is this about the typical amount you are eating? I would really like to know if I am eating too much or too little...
I was 7 months on the 14th. I was what they consider a light weight and was only about 120 pounds overweight. I have lost 76 pounds to date.
I get 90 grams of protein in a day and try for about 90 oz of water . To do this i have 2 protein shakes a day each one 30 grams of protein apiece. then have a couple of small meals during the day of high protein foods such as cottage cheese and pineappe or tuna fish with boiled egg. I can eat 1/2 cup of chilie at a time or 1/2 cup of refried beans with cheese on them I try to eat only high protein foods. when i do eat. Protein first you know. I love green veggies but know they are sort of a treat after the protein. I hope i am not thru losing weight. I have been more or less at a stall for awhile but then i will lose 2or 3 pounds and then stall again for a couple of weeks.
Need to up the exercise i know but it is hard to do anymore.

I too was considered a lite weight because I had 100 to lose. I lost 18 before the surgery and have lsot 80 since. I am 5'9 and they want me down to 160 - 165, so I only have 15 - 20 to go.
Today I had a protein drink for breakfast and some water. Lunch I had half a small turkey and cheese sandwhich. I also took 3 bites of my sons pizza and it made me sick!!!! For dinner I had 4 pieces of shrimp and some cheese. I drink water all day long. I forgot, I had a few Cheetos. I know not the best choice. But I was soooo hungry I had to eat.
I just wish I was as close to goal as some of ya'll! You are doing great!
I've lost 132 pounds, but only 21 pounds since Jan 1st... I've pretty much been stalled all year this year. And, I still have 100 pounds to lose to reach my goal weight of 175 to 180 pounds. I started at 410 and am currently at 278. I haven't lost any weight in over two weeks now. I have lost 100 inches so far, but even that isn't feeling as good as it did.... I still have 58 inch hips. I have 27 inch thighs. I want desperately to lose weight in those two places!
I eat between 900 and 1200 calories per day. I get i 65 to 80 grams of protein daily and 60 ozs or more (68 today, 80 yesterday) of fluids per day. I exercise at least 3 times per week which is major considering the physical limitations I had as a pre-op. BUT, nothing I do seems to shake up my loss and get it rolling again lately....
You guys keep doing what you're doing! You're so close to goal!

I was so thrilled to see I was not the only one who has been stalled for a while now. It seems as if the last 2-3 months I have barely lost 8-10 lbs. I have been sick with back surgery so I thought that was my reason- everything seems to have slowed since December in fact.
Food wise there is nothing that I cant eat except since surgery I am still lactose intolerant- my tummy seems to like fish the most and chicken the worst. I make my own fresh protein shakes and do at least one a day to get in about 80-100gms of protein with food (most days, there are days I blow it or am not even hungry) Water intake still sucks even after all of these months and I will be 8 months post op next week. There are days I can eat alot and others I barely can eat a few bites.
I want to lose 28lbs more and my doc says I was at goal at 180- right now I might want to think about my goal being 150 cause my body is fighting me to lose alot- maybe we stall for a couple of months and then we lose again????? What do you all think???
hugs,
Tanya

I am so glad I came and read this post.. I am 7 months out and have been hovering around 201 for the last month. I only lost 8 pounds in the last 2 months and I am going Crazy.. I am 97 pounds down, and teetering on the edge of Onderland.. Nothing I do tends to break this stall... I just wish I would get past the 200 mark, so I can quit focusing so much on the numbers, but for some reason, I am stuck. Uggghhhh.....
I eat about 1200 cal a day now, and I certainly get my fluid intake in, with no problem. Protein shakes, I have one a day that equal 35g of protien, and I get the other protein from food. I like fruit and cheese and I drink alot of decaf tea. Getting tired of salads, but like steak the best. Goes down very easily. Chicken is still a rough go.. Have to chew it VERY well...
Finding that chocolate goes down waaayy to easily too... Had to back off that for a bit, but I have not eaten a lot of "no-no" foods, especially not a pound worth....
Glad to know I am not alone.... Good luck to you, my August buddies !!!
Boy I could have been writing this post too...amazing how a lot of us are at the same stage. So far I have lost 80 pounds since surgery and 98 pounds all together. The weight loss definately slowed down, I only lost 3 pounds in February and 5 so far in March. I am ok with this as I am getting used to my new body...so exciting! But I worry like I hear many of you saying, that I still need to watch what I eat etc.
I try to journal etc and count protein and so on, but I am struggling with that...just cant seem to make myself do it. I do exercise quite a bit, with my treadmill at home, going to the gym and other fun things like cross country skiing, swimming and walking. I have so much more energy and fitness.
I have not even been on this website for a long time, so nice to read up on how others are doing. This week, I am going to try to write down what I eat and also get back to drinking my water. What are your goals for this week? (Remember keep it manageable).

I completely understand what you are talking about. I too am stuck at 200 or 205....I wanted so much to be below 200 at my 6 month check up but that didn't happen.
I am stalled and have been stalled for about 2 months now but I continue on. Now it is time for Ms. Flo to visit and I am starting to gain fluid...yuck!!
I will keep the faith however.
Good Luck All!

Seems like my weight loss is really slowing down too. I can eat a little more but I do work out a good bit!
I was at 205 at the begining of February. Now it it the end of March and my scale is going between 191-193 I need to get to 185 to be at my minus 100 mark!!! What is taking so long. I thought for sure I'd have been down 100 pounds by now.
I have tried upping my protein and water but I guess I just have to keep trying.
