Help with Hairloss

I haven't had that much hair loss and I am almost 6 months out from surgery. Just a few strays here and there. I have been taking folic acid 1200 mcg a day for a couple years because I take methotrexate for arthritis. This may be why I am not having much hair loss. I am also taking 3 Flintstone with iron vits a day and 1200 mg of B12 a day. Plus Citralcal minis. I feel great! My surgeon said his patients do better on Flintstones than the higher priced vitamins....so I am following his advice and am doing great.

Mine started to thin out more all over and I had some breakage in the front around 3 mths out too. My beautician noted she has noticed more of an issue in the front. I will definitely try the folic acid tip. I take 2 centrum multiv, 6 fish oil supps, 2 prenatal vits, 3 adek, 2 calcium, and 12000mg of biotin a day-the biotin will vary depending on if I can only find the 1500 mg or 5000 mg biotin tablets. I am diligent about my vitamins and am so glad I saw this post. But, I have also heard people say that the shedding may occur for some whether they take their vitamins or not but that it will definitely grow back. So, I am glad to know that. My hair was falling out at a pretty high rate, one shower and I could stop the drain. My Dr says its from the rapid weight loss. I was told to take 1500 mg of Biotin. I take it faithfully. I am seeing new growth and it has slowed down greatly. I have noticed if I forget for a day or two the hairloss is back. Now I dont forget. Keep meaning to add folic acid. My Gyn recommended something she swears by and its some Pennsylvania Crude Oil you apply to the scalp. Have not read up enough to be convinced.
