Hi All, My surgery is one week from today. I am nervous as heck. I have been sitting on OH for hours at a time just trying to occupy my mind. Tomorrow I'm going camping for three days. I am hoping that will be a good distraction. When I return its clean, clean, clean the house, pack my suitcase, and worry worry worry. How are you guys coping with all the waiting and nerves??

I am on the same day as you - so it is down to the wire. This week I am also occuping my mind with reading the boards and all my wls books. Also Double checking my suitcase/food for home/vitamins. Cleaning house and making sure everything is caught up at work before I head out! Thursday is some pre-op testing and Friday I met with the surgeon, tour the hospital and pay my out of pocket (YUCK!). It will seem so REAL then. Good Luck!

I went to the pychiatrist and WLS surgeon seminar and doc appointment yesterday...and I am already scheduled! I was hoping for soon but WOW! I am so nervous too! It is nice to talk to some other people who are going through the same thing at the exact same time! Take care!!!!! Hugs, Danielle

I am SO NERVOUS too! I am in one week from today as well! I can't believe how fast the time goes by. I bought three flavors of protein powders and a Bariatric Advantage multivitamin. I then stocked up on some broths, sugar free jello, crystal light, etc... My bag is packed already for the hospital. I wor****il the day before surgery so I will be distracted. Keep yourself busy! Make sure you have all the phone numbers you need, etc....ready for when you are in the hospital too. Stay in touch!

Hi everyone! I'm Barbara and my surgery date is August 2nd. I just found this board today, and my mind is going bonkers with questions about the future. Who will have hardly any pain? Who will come home first? Who will be able to get their protein down and who will lose 10 lbs first?? I have been busy, busy, busy with getting ready, that has really helped me to cope. I wrote a lot of it down on my profile page. Tonight I am sorting through my clothes and saying Goodbye to FAT CLOTHES! I have a few comfortable things in my current size and several in the next few sizes. I have been buying a little here and there at thrift shops. It is shocking at how you can get small clothing cheap! Man am I going to save money!! Here is wishing you all well Barbara

Hi, I just got to the board, too--and the time is really flying by,just today!, reading all of you and making my own first posts. You guys are great. Its definitely hitting me that I better get my derriere in gear. I've been counting down to the big day in a fairly laid-back manner, apparently. I'm so excited for things to start, but maybe I've been supressing some feelings or avoiding thoughts about the drastic change waiting on the other side of surgery. (Hmm...) I'm so thankful I got to this board!! On the subject of packing lists--[I tend to need Sesame Street basics]--anybody care to share a specific suitcase list??? 8- l I'm sure I'll find it very useful...while saying "Duh" repeatedly. Big Thanks to everybody and their posts, "Ramona" Lisa
