August 8th
Hi All,
I need to get a heel spur surgery on July 28th and then the lap band on August 8th. I know I have to walk in the hospital, and at home because of that gas etc. yet the foot surgery says off the feet for 2 weeks and they give a boot and crutches. Plus my husband wants to move Oct. 1st and I hate him now, I fear I won't be better. Can't even get excited about loosing the weight now, just so sad.
WOW Patricia, I am sorry to hear you are going through all of this. I can relate with the heel spur (although I did not need surgery, thank goodness, but had a cast on for 3 weeks in the sweltering summer with no air!). Do not get discouraged, maybe your ortho doctor can put your heel spur surgery off until after you have the lap band surgery, as far as the husband, mine is lucky he is breathing today !
Thank you so much for responding. It will be okay, I put this heel thing off too long and it really needs to be done. and my insurance is only good for so long anyhow. I'm luckey because I am off work now and I know my husband will help me. I just really feel down about having to move back to where we came from, I love it here. As for your husband let him breath, he must be good for something.
Patti
Patricia, your heel spur sounds so painful. ouch! I would ask the foot doctor about some minor walking with the crutches, i am sure they will approve it for you. The idea is that you need to get body movement and there are many ways to achieve that, ask the nurses for help. How about a 10 minute wiggle in bed every hour or so. OR Have your arms "run" in place. OR How about chair dancing or bed dancing!
Ok... so these may be a bit weird, my point is don't worry, things will find a way to work out.
Now about your husband and moving.... Sounds like he has put alot of thought into where he would be happier and misses "back home". Is there any negociation in this matter? I hope there are some wls support groups near there and a place for you to follow up your wls.???? Would this move be very stressful for you??? I sometimes like to write down the pros and cons of a decission needing to be made to help me sort out the whys and hows and maybe the how comes. Thinking of you.
hugs, Aunt Pam
Dear Aunt Pam,
How thoughtful of you to write. I am picking up the boot and crutches today. I am going for my pre-op testing for the lap band todat too. I will ask them questions too. As for him he will be unhappy wherever he is. I am gonna put my foot down. and stay here. We have written down pros and cons. This move is beyond stress. we would be moving from a beautiful scenic quiet S. Jersey location back to Philadelphia. We do attend the spport group here, it is great. Plus the fills and nutrion classes are here. All in all it's things that make you want to say... Thanks again
Well! I won now we are not moving. That was the main stress here. Kris tommorrow is bootcamp and we will be together. I never mentioned my foot surgery to anyone at Dr. O's office I guess it will be okay. It was great to meet you Kris. You are so funny! My husband really liked you alot. Guess I need to lighten up and laugh. Thanks all who wrote to me. Now I have to unpack the crap I packed. Bye Patti
