I thought I was the only one feeling this way!!!! I was afraid to say anything about it on my blog in fear of backlash to sabbotaging my surgery and goals :-( I have even made a list of my favorite places to eat and am checking them off lol. But I did not know that they would cancel my surgery if I gained anything- they just said to start a 1000 calorie liquid diet 2 weeks before surgery- so I have 13 days to eat solid normal food. I need to break down and get on that scale now dont I???? Tanya

I'm still waiting on a date. I'm expecting it to happen in August. No one mentioned to me that I need to watch my weight. It's lucky that I haven't gained anything. Not so much because I haven't been eating - more so because I have been trying to walk 4 times a week. But it has gotten awfully hot in IL and I haven't walked in a week. Even at 5am in the morning it is hot and humid! All this means I might start gaining now - - 'cause I am eating!!!! Everytime I eat something fatty or high in sugar, I tell my husband that that will be the last time I eat that for a long time. I try to remind myself that I will be able to eat again - - but not until I loss all the excess weight and then, I'm sure that I will have no desire to eat like I am eating now. I too, have a list of resturants that I want to make sure we get to before the surgery. Time is ticking - - before you know it I will be on my pre-surgery diet and there will be no turning back. I am so excited that the surgery will soon be done and over with!

I have done the same with the fat and sugar eating well. I am not a sugar eater by nature- I actually have issues with breads and pastas- I would take a piece of bread any day over eating a piece of cake how strange is that???? i am so envious and proud of you for your walking!!!!! I need to do that as of today ( i have put that off for over 5 days now with no excuse). They say it takes 3 weeks to get into a habit and I have 25 days til my surgery. I can do this and by reading your msg- it has insprired me to do it again. I am almost afraid to get on the scale in fear that I have gained or stayed the same- LIke when I went for my appointment you have to face the truth once and for all. I need to see the scale as my friend. Ok I am going to go weigh myself and take a walk now that it is somewhat cooler outside ( I am in Houston and it is 97 degrees right now- seems more like hell when you are out there lol) Keep up the good work with the walking and keep me updated on how it is all going for your surgery date.

That is not strange at all - I am right there with you and the carbs! that will be the hardest part for me as well. I have my final appointment with the nutritionist this afternoon, so I am sure we will discuss that and making better choices! This ride is only going to get better from here - I can just feel it!!

Yep... I am doing that too. I had not thought of it at a last meal syndrome, but I like that! I shall think of peppermint as I consume my "last meal syndrome" foods! hugs, Aunt Pam
