Hi Bridget, Glad to hear you are doing great. Looked at your pics on my space and you look great! Yeah I want to lose more weight it just is glued to me though. I had to stop running because I had two surgeries. I want to start up this week again. I am sure I probably will only be able to do one mile to start again. Good for you on doing a marathon. Wow I don't think I will ever do one of those. I am just to old to start that now. I can handle the 5 and 10 ks and that is it... Anyway let me know how you make out. Diana 263/153/145 or 135

Diana, Nice to hear from you. Isn't it interesting that now, as adults, we can finally start to figure out the root cause of our obesity (somewhat at least).... I'm still working on figuring mine out. I've been in the 180's since July of last year. I'm very happy where I am. Although, it would be awesome to get into the 170's & stay there fore a while. Most of my body (from my shoulders to my knees) really need help. My boobs have completed deflated, my arms have terrible skin...stomach, thighs & butt all sag. Of course, they all look pretty good under my clothes. My insurance doesn't pay for plastics either so maybe in the next couple of years I'll work on that. Although, my sister & I finished our application video's for Extreme Makeover yesterday...wouldn't that be awesome???? I'd love to work with Michael Thurman just to learn the right exercises to target the problem areas. Of course I could do 6 zillion crunches & my hanging skin will never go away without PS. Too much stretching out over the years. Anyway, I think all of us are working really hard to get back on track & use our tool properly. Keep posting...it sure does keep me going on the straight & narrow. Tammy

Bridget.... WOW...congratulations on all your successes... You're doing awesome. So nice to hear from you. A couple years ago, would you ever think that 2 years from then you'd be living in DC, training for a marathon & thinking about becoming a police officer??? What a success story you've become... Good for you I saw your one pic on myspace, but couldn't get in to see the others. Will wait to see them on here. Keep up the great work & thanks for checking in. Tammy

Well lets see... SO much has changed in the last 18 months since this amazing surgery! I am SOOOO glad that I had the life changing surgery... Needless to say I have had my ups and downs with it... Throwing up on occasion, some excess skin issues, Issues tollerating certain foods etc. But all and all, I wouldn't change my life or body now for anything... I started out at 286, I currently hover around 165 thats a 120 pound loss... its just amazing! I like everyone else on here, graze, don't always eat what I am supposed to (i just ate a pack of gushers... ) but I do make sure I exercise 4 or 5 days a week... I have actually started training for the Chicago marathon which will be on October 7, 2007.... I am so scared but if I can lose 120 pounds, I can run a marathon! I would like to lose 15 or 20 more pounds, but that shouldn't be too hard while training for the marathon! I also moved to DC in August, am getting my masters and I think I am going to apply to be a police officer (I want to be an investigator or special agent for one of the various agencies, but you need experience, and that I can get being a cop...) so I will keep you all updated on that! I need to get my pictures on here updated, but if you go to www.myspace.com/bridgetkaryn you can see some pictures of me... One in a bikini from my trip to mexico last week! I hope you all are doing well, and I am so proud of us all for completing this journey! Bridget 286/165/145

Wow Kim! That is fast! I will be praying for you and wishing you a speedy recovery! But yes, please keep us posted. We are all getting to the point of wanting some kind of plastics and want DETAILS! And pictures of course! I am going to post my tummy pics on my profile soon. I will be scheduling my consult probably next month sometime after my 18 month check up. I am hoping my surgeon will give me a referral. Take care and keep us updated girl! Lori

Hi Everyone, I kept checking my email at work and at home and forgot to come out here. I just read through the posts and can say at 18 months I am at the same place as most of you. Still have weight to lose, graze and can eat sometimes more that other times. I can pack in the calories. I have been having protein for breakfast and now I am going to start a healthy diet. I had two surgeries and will be able to work out again next week. I did gain over the holidays, I took it right off. I gained about 3-5 lbs. Since I want plastic Surgery and I wont get it paid for by insurance I was thinking I should get my boobs done. My boobs have always been large however they now sag like crazy. I think boobs are the cheapest way to go. A lot less then the tummy tuck. Maybe that will make me feel good about my new body. I met up with my friend from junior high school, we had not seen each other for 30+ years. I had forgotten that she had Anorexia as a kid. She has lived with that all her life. I guess that is why I have such unrealistic body and weight images. She is still so tiny. She works out like crazy, but she does eat. How much not sure yet , can't be much. When I was a kid 3 of my best friends had anorexia. I didn't and was not fat just right. Well I would always try to get them to eat. I kinda forgot about this part of my life. I then moved away from them and my next friend did not have anorexia but she had stomach problems and when see ate she always would get sick and she was very skinny. They were all very short in comparison to me so my whole life I felt like a cow. My friends all weighed 85 lbs and under and I weighed 120. Well meeting her has helped me understand that way back I put it in my head that I was fat and a cow even when I was not , but I did evenually become one. I also want to becaome thin again, but I don't want to starve myself in the process. I starved myself in my twenties trying to stay 120 and under.I took speed to stay thin and not eat. I messed up my metabolism I am 5'8" and I know 120 is a weight that looks thin but I can not maintain in a healthy way. So I am going to really start to work out and eat healthy food and supplement it with protein and water and vitamins and Juice Plus and see what I can do this year. Hopefully I can get to 135 and maintain it. I have been weighing in at 153-149 for months now. I drink this protein by Jay Robbs and he has a fat burning diet which is a combo of low carbs and low fat and so I ordered it and want to see what it is all about. I think it sounds healthy and that is what I am trying to become. I brought three little tangerines to work for snacks so I dont munch on candy. Chocolate and candy are my vices. Well I miss you all and hope this year we use our tool and get what we want out of it. Diana

Wow, Kim, it's coming up fast. I think I'd be a little nervous, too, but sounds like you're seeing an experienced PS so I wouldn't worry. I'm anxious to see the before & afters. Granted, I know it will take time for everything to get to the way it's supposed to be. Looks like you're the first of us Augusters to get this done, so be prepared to tell all .... Seriously, I'll be praying for a speedy recovery. Yes, definately up your protein. You should start now. Good luck Tammy
