I am so happy for you and that you are happy with the results. Follow the doctors orders. I have a friend who never follows them and has had to have her breasts redone 4 times because she feels good and does whatever.

Topic: Breast Cancer
Hi All my wonderfull WLS buddies,
I had a mammogram last monday 2/5/07 and they found something, on thursday they did a needle biopsy and it has been confirmed I have Breast Cancer. I am not scared and really have been preparing myself for this for about 10 years. My mother has had it in both breasts and my aunt ovarian cancer so I was a high risk. I just thought that I would get it when I was in my 50's not 40's. I am so glad I had WLS because I dont know if they would have found it so early on with all the additional fat that was carried in the breats. So now I might get the Insurance to pay for plastic surgery. I guess you really need to be careful for what you wish for.
Love to you all
Diana
PS I am sure I will lose that last 10 lbs now.

Go get your labs done ASAP. What sucked for me is the months it took to get see the hematologist and schedule the iron infusions. Do you already take oral iron supplements?

Hey Kim,
Thanks for your kind words... I've started eating the way that i did when i first had surgery and i plan to keep it this way. I'm determined.

Hey Torrey... Sorry about your bad luck. I believe I am anemic also, but I haven't had labs done in a long time. I was sceduled to have them done in August, but I am going next month. I am basically lathargic 24/7, unless I drink coffee and/or tea, and my hands and feet are always cold. So, I don't know yet. Hope you do well and best of luck in the future!

Topic: Update on my Plastic surgery friday!
Hi everyone! im updating you as promised. im not going to sugar coat anything, any questions anyone has, just ask! I also have the before and after pics and ill be taking more pics every few days for you to view if you like....all ya have to do is ask, and send me your email addy. Please dont share the pics with anyone, as they are very embarrsing and private to me, but im willing to share them with you all here on the board. Ill have my breast lift/implants done on march 30th so ill share that with you also. Email me privately at [email protected] and tell me who you are and that your from OH in the subject line or it will get deleted accidently.
I had my panni removed friday and he took 3 lbs of loose skin off. He also "threw in" a vaginal lift for free! all i did was ask if it would pull the area up and he said no, but he would do it for free for me. Im so happy with the results of that! you can see it instantly!
I have 2 JP drains in and the incision is from hip to hip...it actually goes almost to my back on the hip, so its much larger and longer than i thought. Its very painful and taking a shower wasnt fun, and when i seen the incision i was a lil "scared" of it. The binder makes it feel so much better when its on, but when i took it off for the shower it felt funny and like i was going to "split open". I suggest getting a loofa on a stick b4 this surgery for washing/showering purposes...my hubby is getting one for me today.
I bought the maxi pads to cover the incision and it takes about 6 super pads to cover the cut, thats how long it is, BUT on a happier note....MY TUMMY IS FLAT and my private area is lifted!! It looks AWESOME! and its so swollen, so i can only imagine what it will look like when healed!! Its a lot more painful than i thought, but it will be worth it in the end! any questions i will be more than happy to ask. If you want to see the pics so far, just ask...but again, respect my privacy and dont share them with anyone. If it takes a day or 2 to respond its because im healing and not online that much. I love you all!

Topic: Gaining Weight...Need Help/Motivation.
Hello everyone, its been a while since my last post but I'm glad I made it back.
Its been a year and a half since my since my surgery (08/05) and I have lost a total of 80lbs, my lowest weight being 150lbs, but since thanksgiving 2006 I find myself eating things that i shouldnt be eating and falling back into my old habits...its scary, since november i have gained between 10-13lbs. I now weight 162. I don't know what to do, but i do know that i dont want to end up the way i was before...I've made up my mind and am going to start going to the gym again and will stay away from breads, pasta, and rice. I am also scheduled for a tummytuck May 2007 but I want to be at my goal weight of 145 before I do. Could this be possible?
I want to know, and maybe someone can help...what should I do to get the weight coming off again? I need to break this plataeu. Is anyone experiencing the same thing?
Please let me know...Thanks in advance

Topic: What a great trip!
Hi August Mates!
Got back from my trip to Hawaii with my folks and sister and what great time we had. We took the NCL Pride of Aloha cruise and if you ever get the chance to go, do it!!! It is fantastic. Their gym is a little small but has a several treadmills, eliplitcals and weight machines. First day I was really sore!! I ate mostly protein on the trip and water was hard to make myself drink as I am use to drinking bottled water and was getting glasses of water from the room or buffet area. I did the best I could with that.
Then we found out there was a guy teaching the hula on the ship. What a blast. Talk about a good workout for the thighs and butt area. On Thursday evening we were to do a show for the other passengers and so we practiced all four songs we had learned 4 times. Can you say, "Feel the burn!!!" I intend to keep up with the hula lessons I learned (one, because it is fun and two, because it is a real good workout).
We saw some wonderful things, met some great people and I almost even had a close encounter of the romantic kind with the guy who taught the hula. I need to get myself better able to read the signs and signals guy send out. Oh well, miss opportunities seem to always follow me.
Hope everyone is doing well. Yak at ya soon,
Lori
