Topic: HEY EVERYONE!!!!
Soooooo here we are 23 months post - op & our little board is dwindling away. I'm soooo very guilty of not posting or even checking in. Life, here, has been hectic as usual. Still working 60+ hrs a week plus running the girls to soccer games for their summer soccer league. Our house is great, except the fact that a tree fell on it on the 20th of June. The contractor is here, as I type this, putting on a new roof. Thank God for insurance
Weight wise............still hovering between 178 & 185 for the most part. Been here for over a year. Just started a 6 week program with my girls to help them prepare for soccer tryouts which begin on August 20th & I really would like to lose about 15 lbs by my birthday in September. So doing Slim In 6 by Beach Body then I ride my bike while the girls run for 3 miles. Very sore today. Definate indication that my butt has been planted on my office chair ALOT lately. But at least I started moving again.
How's everyone else doing? Eating has been ok...Always room for improvement when it comes to that lately. Bought a bunch of fruit & have been focusing on that. Loveing the watermelon & strawberries. I am guilty of munching on carbs .... chips ...bread & at that time of the month even something sweet. Although, I have to say my body is still in control when it comes to refined sugars because I really still can't tolerate alot of sugar. Which is a Great thing....
I hope everyone is doing well & you're enjoying your summer as much as we are.... ABSOLUTELY LOVING OUR POOL!!!!!
Take Care & let me know how things are going.

Hi Jackie,
This is the first time I've been on the site since April or May. I'm surprize not to see Tammy are some of the other ladies who use to post everyday, leaving good advice for us to follow. I have to tell you the truth I have been struggling with the exercise part of this program for the last 23 months. I hate to exercise and I don't always drink enough water. I know I've gain some weight over the 4 of July holiday week. So I'm staying away from the scale so I want get my fillings hurt. For those who are doing the program right and keeping your weight down and in control,---KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Jackie you are not along I just think we have got bore with this for now are our lifes are bizzy for the summer. I hope to see the August family back by FALL.
Take Care Carolyn in Fort Worth Texas
Sorry if I used bad grammar are misspelled any words.

Sorry no one answered you! Everyone seems to be MIA lately.
I don't have any info to help you. I suggest you post your question on the Grad board. It's much more active with people who have the same issues we do.
Good Luck! Michele

You're right, people are posting very in frequently. I think they must all be doing well and not need the support. At least I hope that's the case.
Try the Grad board. It's pretty active and most postings are ones that we can relate too.
Saw your pictures, you look terrific! Sounds like the OH conference was great. Particulary with the cast of Big Medicine there! I love that show! Helps to re-motivate me!

I get on the boards more often when I'm struggling to keep on track, and I check this board, but there's rarely activity. Where has everyone gone? Is everyone else not having problems staying on track? Everyone else is at GOAL? I'm wondering now if I'm the only one needing support to stay on track.
I finally posted pictures today. After 2 years I thought it was time to show myself. To be honest, I was afraid to post pictures as someone would recognize me, but then, I tell almost everyone that I'm a WLSer. It's not really a secret.

I am new to this site but I need help. I had surgery in 2005 , August 1. Since 6 months after surgery I have had peripheral neuropathy in both feet and part of my legsup to my knees and hips at times. I also have muscle twitching at night. Does anyone have any information that can help me? I also still weigh 188 and am 5'11" so need to lose 25 lbs. This is my first time asking or getting involved in group support.

Carrie,
I used to see you post often on the Main Board, but I have not been on there in a long time. I have not been to this board in more than a year. Funny thing is, today in my car, I was thinking about YOU! I often checked your profile because your pictures, your spirit, and your attitude and self confidence were always an inspiration to me. I did not even realize that you and I had surgery in the same month....
I looked at your recent pictures, and I think you still look great! I really don't know waht to say to you regarding continuing to lose weight. I just made arrangements to go back to my nutritionist to set me up with a healthy eating plan. If I get any good tips, I will pass them on to you.

Howdy,
Glad I could help. I would have thought the stiches would have been the dissolvable kind. Can't you call and ask the nurse if that's normal? You're 2 months before you see him. I wouldn't wait that long since it's been 3 months since the surgery. Great on getting down to 150!!
I've been fine. I went to Boston with my best friend. It was so much fun to be able to sit 3 seats across w/o feeling the person next to me and to be able to curl up in the seat to attempt to snooze on the way home. I sit around 140 now - 5 lbs above my original goal of 135. At 135 I kept going down to 132 up to 138, all w/i a week and most folks kept asking me if I was okay and if I was still losing. I'm more stable at 140, and just about everyone thinks I look better. I know I need to firm up though as I've gone from 4/6 to 6/8 in my clothes and 5 lbs shouldn't make that big a difference. I haven't been exercising so the lean muscle I had gotten has now gone to flabby fat. On a positive note, I actually went out for a run/walk yesterday and a bike ride today. Here's to keeping that up.
So how are the boys? Keep thinking of how good you look and how successful you've been to help you through the PS recovery process. Hopefully the scars will fade - but I know my sister's hip replacement scars (which they don't try to make invisible) took about 1-2 years to get to where they are now. I had PS on my face when I was in jr. high because a German Shepard tried to take it off. It took a full year before it was pretty much invisible and they put in 100 stiches in a 1" area! All of this is to say - healing takes time.
