Hi Tam, Well, no exercise today, though I'll be making up for it at the end of the week. I did play softball yesterday for 2 hours - all outfield - running and everything. Heat was killing me by the end - high 80's here. We have our first game Friday night and I'm looking forward to it. OH! It's a team made up of bariatric post-ops and our surgeons and we're called "Slim Chance". Dawn 258/134/135

Sounds like a good workout. I just got back from a 3 mile walk...about 60 minutes... Wow I actually worked out twice today... WOO HOOO Have a great evening Tam

DAWN !! OMG You look F A B U L O U S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is that pic from like a Glamour Makeover? I have been wanting to do one - and thinking about doing it in July- and then sending out the pictures on a card- and celebrating the new ME - for my birthday.. I am into size 16/18 and tops 14s. I found a pair of jeansI had put away- i used to wear them last summer- they are a 26- I put them on- and my mother was like OMGODDD !! Its easy to get lost and off track and sometimes we just have to remember we weren't always this fortunate or feeling this great- BUT IM THANKFUL and HAPPY THAT I AM and we all are. It such a relief not to burdened with all that weight. I no longer feel like Im the fattest person in the room- nor do I fear sitting in out door chairs.. I do keep thinking when am I going to get under 200? EVER HEARD THAT ONE? Like I told my surgeon's PA the other day- if I never lost another pound- it would all be worth it- because Ive taken 100lbs off my body- and never had that chance before & would never have done it SUCCESSFULLY any other way. Oh- and I went out dancing this past wednesday- I wore a red halter with cut out @ mt breasts, a black suede skirt and heels and went out alone. Guys were sitting by me asking me to dance-(where they never did before) I gotta tell ya- I wore out a few partners- THEY HAD TO QUIT! I kept going! I also had a date wth another guy- Gary- who I found out- after the date- is 30! LOL I keep telling him how hot I am and he agrees- LOL- so who can fault a man like that- regardless of his age? Julie I agree with what everyone has said- and I know from exercising- if you have no fuel in your tank- you are not gaining or LOSING anything..thats why you keep doing the same 5lbs. My suggestion is to up your protein increase it to 60gms a day and up your water. Get some great summertime protein- like Nectar's Roadside Lemonade or their Lemon Iced Tea or Cappucino flavor protein. They mix wonderfully with water. the lemonade is light and you can drink it alone with cold water or mix in some Crystal Light lemonade for more body..Their Iced Tea tastes a LOT like Diet Arizona iced tea- either lemon or diet peach from Arizona- mixes well with Nectar's brand..and also their Fuzzy Navel- is like a tangerine/ orange flavor and mixes well with Crystal Light sunrise.. have not tried the cappucino one yet- but Ive heard its good.. So do a shake- add in an extra protein bar that will bring you up 40gms a day then plus whatever you are doing. ALSO- exercise is what will raise your metabolism and get the fat furnace burning. So it sounds like- you are stuck and may just need a change of routine. Try a different aerobic workout for a week- or take a class or instead of doing the treadmill do the stairmaster or- begin working with dumbbells or hand held weights- the weights will build muscle- you will lose more fat- and increase your metabolism. think of your muscles as mini fat furnaces - the more they are built up- the leaner you are- is how you should think about muscle mass in your body.
