Topic: Has Anyone Swallowed Gum????
Ok, kinda freaking out. I've chewed gum since shortly after surgery. I know, in the beginning, it's really a no no because of the risk of swallowing it & it getting stuck blocking the exit passage of your pouch. Tonight it happened. I just put gum in my mouth, went into the school for my daughters induction ceremony, went to say something to my husband & BAM....it slid right down... I freaked. Buzzed to the bathroom & tried to throw it up, but it wasn't coming. I've had some liquids & a calcium chew & nothing feels stuck so I'm hoping that it slid right through & it's on it's way out.... Anyway, just wondering if anyone else has had this happen & if so....what happened.
Thanks for the input

Hi Natika,
You do look awesome!! You've done super - we're the same height/weight pre & post op and we hit goal about the same time. Very cool for us! In our program when we hit goal if we are still losing weight we get to add a protein snack into the day. Also, if for some reason you haven't yet, intro the ol' carbs as they slow the weight loss as well.

Mary,
I know my doctor did not take measurements, but I am too horrified to know anyway! I have gone from a 32 to a 14, and I know I can easily now fit in one leg of my former pants. That is strange. I also got rid of everything except the pants I wore to the hospital on surgery day.
Congratulations to you and best wishes!
Topic: RE: A note for the women... Birth Control Warning!
Hi, Bridget.
First of all, sorry for the trouble and pain you had. I'm sure it wasn't easy.
Just wanted to say that I had a Merina IUD put in 2 months after my surgery because I had heard that we won't absorb the pill like we should. I've never had children, so there was some cramping involved when they inserted the IUD. Hurt pretty bad, but as soon as he was done, it started to ease up. If you do this, take something with you because you will bleed after they do the procedure. Nobody mentioned this to me.
My periods have gotten lighter and lighter each month since getting the IUD. I think they may stop all together soon. The last couple months I have just used a panty liner because they were so light. I like that.
My monthly cramps are a little different though. Not necessarily worse or better, just different.
It seems odd not to have to worry about birth control. Great, actually. I can leave this in for 5 years. I will still have an annual pap and they'll check to make sure the IUD is still in the proper place too. I can't feel the IUD at all either.
Best wishes,
Kina

Hi - Thank you for noticing! I appreciate it. I got tired of looking at myself, LOL
Also- with the new changes on the individual homepages- believe it or not- I could
not figure out how to get back to the August Board! I bookmark everything and did not have this board bookmarked. LOL AND I work in the IT/Internet sector! LOL
Thank you again. I have to learn from my mistakes..its not a bad thing. I just have to improve! LOL and I can post all I want.
Thank you! I have more pictures at: http://NYBabe.photosite.com/
Have a great day Sherry!

Topic: RE: June Challenge...Day 2
Hi Tammy,
Sorry I have been MIA too the last couple of days. I was home sick yesterday in bed all day long. I still have a pounding headache today but felt well enough to come into work. I think I am feeling the effects of my period coming on. Makes me think it's gonna be a doozy the way I am feeling.
I got lots of walking in this weekend, probably at least 1 hour's worth. We had lots going on. I don't feel like giving all the details right now but we were constantly on the move... volleyball, basketball practice, grocery shopping, etc...
Today I am not doing much of anything. Going to watch my daughter's first basketball game of the summer tonight. Still feel really weak and my head is pounding.
Hopefully tomorrow I will be up for my 40 min walk.
Take care,
Lori
