One year post op on 8/18/2005 Day of sugery 342 lbs Current Weight 194lbs. 148lb lost.... Size at surgery 24 bottoms 3x tops Size now 12 pants/ Large tops I keep toggling between those same 2-3 lbs this last month as well. Gotta get back to the basics and that is all there is too it. I am going to need some serious plastic surgery on my stomach. I think with that off I would be at my goal of 175 lb and easily be in a size 8 or 10. I am so self conscience about it. I have lost all my boobs....:0 I would not mind to have them worked on a little as well.

Ok everyone, I don't think we have done this in a while. It is time to weigh in and let everyone know where you are and how far you have come. There have been a lot of posts about about bouncing around (and that is what I have been doing lately), but let us put that all in perspective with how far we have come. Feel free to put in your sizes if you so desire. You can also put where you want to go. I am at 209, though bouncing up 2 or 3 pounds then back again. Body wants to hold this weight, I've been plateau'ing for over a month. Trying hard right now to get that carb demon off my back and start loosing again. Got to step up exercises also. But I have dropped from tight 28's to size 16 pants and L/XL tops. Health is great and I can walk up stairs without huffing/puffing. I love to be able to cross my legs! I fit airline seats! WOW, how is that for a year! Would like to get down to about 160-170, but also expect to get some plastic surgery, so maybe 180 with plastic will put me there! Hope to hear from everyone..... even you lurkers (like me most times). Eileen 337/209/160-170ish

Rita Yours is the first post I read today- and what a nice way to greet my day. I have been struggling - with the "I haven't lost as much as I like" blues and the "Im still not in Onderland" blues..with my anniversary next year..but just like last week, along comes a friend on this board- and REMINDS me, that the joruney is different for everyone- we all have different outcomes..and Im not through yet..Yes like you, my fitness is through the roof and there is so much MORE I am capable of, then I could do last year. AND I'd like to think that my fitness is going to stay with me the rest of my life. So after 40 somethng years of terrible on again and off again habits and weight gain/loss, I have actually maintained a healthy mode of living- AND am the healthiest Ive been in my life- which is really saying something at 50. So like you- I can eat basically anything I want- in smaller portions ( yay) and I have kicked this sugar addiction- that I seemed so hell bent on since I was like 7 or 8. I was never diabetic- but I am so sugar conscious and carb conscious now- and I hope to keep improving. I agree with you - the benefits of our surgery outweigh the smaller negatives. More than anything I want to be under 200.. and this week so far- I've managed to get to 210- that is 7lbs since 7/31..I think everyone here has been a GREAT source of support and encouragement- and thank you to everyone for posting as openly and always being there. Rita - have a fabulous day beginning your 2nd year Post Op. You deserve it! Thank you for walking this way with us and sharing everything.I think the best is yet to come! Hugs, Donna

Hi Ashley, Like you, I am a slow loser. I am now down 96.5 pounds, however I thought I would have been down 110 or more by now myself. I have just had to get to the place of knowing that we are all different on this journey and some loose faster and some loose slower. Don't fret or worry about it...I wish my surgeon was like yours. He's been a real horse arse to me at times and my last visit told me that most doctors would say I was a success as I've lost appr. 50% of my weight, but he doesn't consider me a success. That was kinda of the last straw. I've decided that I don't need his approval and that my journey is my own and as I continue to keep on track (getin my protein, water and exercise) there isn't anything wrong with how I am loosing. So, be thankful you have a great surgeon who is supportive of you and that your going to continue to be successful. This life of new health and thinner looks is just the beginning of our successes. Here's to our journeys!! Lori 293/196.5/135

Hi Kim, I started having severe hair loss at about month 3 to 4 and began using biotin which you can get at Walmart. It helps hair, skin and nails. I started with 2 a day for the first month and have been taking 1 a month since then. It helped with the hair loss and it is a little thicker than it was even before surgery. I have very thin hair to begin with. It also strengthened my nails. They were very weak before surgery too. Now they are hard and beautiful. They do cause constipation in some people (although, I haven't had any trouble) so be careful if you try it. You can get a bottle for around $2.50 with 240 tablets in it from Walmart or Walgreens. If you want to know more about Biotin, read up on it on Tooter's website...I think it is bariatricbytes.com Best of luck, Lori 293/196.5/135

Hi Rita, What a tremendous year we have all had! It has been worth it. We are all healthier and I know that I feel better about myself. Thank you for the times you've given me support along the way and for your great spirit of caring to us all. You are doing great and just 15 pounds from your weight goal...that's fantastic!!!
