Topic: RE: Have you met your 1 year expectations?
Toya I know how you feel, and I wish I could (((hugs))) to make you feel better. Once thing I will ask- is have you been recently to a support group? Not that THAT is my answer- its just that when I feel lost and overwhelmed- its usually because Ive strayed from a meeting or two or missed several consecutive days from the gym. But that is me. I understand feelings of disillusionment, unhappiness and jealousy. I wish I could them away for you. I'm not as tall as some other people - I'm only 5-3, and even though I've lost weight- I haven't reached my goal yet- but I refuse to give in or give up on myself. Sometimes things in life require you to dig deeper. I KNOW this is where I would comatose my feelings- with food and sugary stuff- and wind up disliking myself even more. DON'T sabotage yourself, you've broken that chain. I honestly think with making a few changes- you can begin to feel better and move forward. I will send you an email. But in the meantime..74lbs is nothing to sneeze at either..If you pick up any current issues of Shape, or Fitness magazines, or even go online to Shape.com- read about other women who have lost weight- without surgery. THEN SEE how LONG it took them..I don't think Ive read anyone recently losing 74 or more pounds in ONE YEAR!!! You know? Don't look at what others have done- look at what you have done - and remember genetics play a big role in how and why we lose weight and where we store it. I still have a tummy- Yes its smaller than my ass- but my ass got smaller too Still got junk in my trunk ..I'm not a size 12 or 10 or 8..I would like to be under 200..No all my dreams and expectations have not been met - even though I followed what the doctor told me- and I think they undersold me on 40-60gms of protein daily- when I think it should be 100 or more- but Im trying to change that now- we are all in different stages. And happiness is not a destination- its a mode of travel. So put a on your face..we are here and willing to help you. OH yeah- did I mention that I turned 50 last month? Talk about things you cannot change!! Today begins a new chapter in your life- and the rest is all unwritten..Take it one page- one day at a time. Hugs Donna

Eileen! GOOD !!! We are the same weight - 209!! I had bounced up to 217 last week- and I can happily say I just changed everythng around- from carbs to protein- from my workout- I subbed/added two new things- Elliptical Trainer and a PowerFlex weight class - I also been concentrating on doing more AB work. Today, wearing my sons 38 trail shorts- they are 1" biggger in my waist than a month ago- so I have done something right. I even ate old fashioned french toast with s/f syrup one day. I was glad the scale moved! Here is what I do. Some days I get this all in as listed- others I modify it back by time- but tend to get a round of it all in: 60-75 Cardio- Treadmill/ Precor Stairmaster - now with 5lb hand weights 20 mins Boxing 25 mins- elliptical Trainer 30-40 mins weights- shoulders/ arms /leg sled/ ABS/ hamstrings/ quads 4-8 laps swimming * I began at 30 min treadmill with my joints hurting afterwards, so I needed to hot tub/sauna afterwards..Now I add those if I have a free 20mins. Surgery 8/15 Weighed 325 clothing: 26-28 pants/ 22-24 tops BMI: 55.5% *********************** NOW 209 Clothing: size 14W pants/ 16misses pants Tops/ Dresses are Womens M -L Athletic tops: L tops & bottoms- & bought at Target I even fit into size 14/16 Petites in Dress Barn BMI: 37% ************************ Goal: 145/150 - est Clothing: size 10-12 Not sure BMI: 26%
