WOW!!
hooda thunkit? I would be 266lbs lighter than I am now?? I started on Jan of '05 but surgery was on the 18th. of August.......was still in hospital on the day Katrina hit, I will remember both at same time!!.. I would have announced my "RE" birthday, but I was in the hospital having yet another surgery. On an infected stitch under my incision. Went in on Sunday, got cut open on Monday morning, out by Thursday afternoon.
The hospital was GREAT but they had no clue on bariatric's diet or what they eat, how they eat, or what they shouldn't eat. I was in a Wound Care Specialist's hospital. Infact, my surgeon is rated in the top 10 in the NATION !. So I was more worried about the wound care than I was the foods!. I ate alot of grilled chicken salads & crackers for lunch & dinners.! Now I have another hole in my belly about the size of a 1/2 dollar and about 1 1/2 in deep, open.....packed and waiting to heal from the bottom up.......again, for the 3rd time (different spot)
But I'm doing ok, just aggravated!!

Good Morning Everyone...
Hope you're all doing well. My sister is doing so much better now. I'm taking her to see her primary Dr. today for a 1 week visit. Her breathing is much better & so is her pain. I'm so happy she's feeling better.
I got on her bowflex treadclimber again yesterday & did a little over 2 miles in 46 minutes on level 2. It's quite a workout. Then me & my girls went to the mall & shopped for school clothes for 4 hours so I think I got some good exercise in yesteday. Didn't do any today as of yet because we're all scooting around getting ready to leave for her appt. I didn't even get on the scale today. Of course, yesterday, I was still 182 - 182.5. Oh well
, sooner or later I'll see movement again...
Hope you all have a great day & thanks again for all your prayers for my sister. They're greatly appreciated.

Hi Debbie,
It has been a wonderful and awful journey at times for me. Not really awful, just frustrating!
Hope you anniversary date was a great celebration! Mine wasn't really, but my birthday was on 8/16 and I had a blast. I even cheated with some chocolate cake and boy was I sick. It was worth it though. I don't do that ever, but I thought, why not this one time. I know that I won't do it again for a long while, but sometimes pushing that envelope is hard not to do.
Well, I wish you the very best as you continue on the journey. Just 20 more pounds for you. That's fantastic. I have 60 to go and feel like it will never happen, but I am extremely amazed and happy with where this journey has taken me. I can't believe that I am wearing a size reg/misses 18 in pants and skirts now...even a few 16s if they are stretch one. I haven't worn knit pants or pants with elastic since I lost down to 230. I will never go back to wearing pants that grow with me.
Well, enough of my ranting. Congrats to you and keep up the great work!!

Topic: RE: Anybody still experiencing hair loss?
I started to have hair loss again at about 10 months out. It was wierd because I've been taking Biotin and I have really noticed a difference in my skin being healthier, my nail growing in stronger and my hair being thicker.
However, I did start to freak out a little over the hair loss, but didn't increase my biotin intake. I didn't want to have constipation problems and too much of biotin can cause that problem. So, I thought maybe I would get it cut short again. I haven't had the funds when I was near my hair dressers shop or I didn't have the time, so I haven't done that yet.
I have decided to wait another month, cause it is at the perfect length right now. I really like how it looks on me today. What I did was just let my hair dry on its own...beacuse it is so thin it only takes about 1/2 hour for it to dry and I am to work by that time and just fluff it up a little and good to go!
However, this past week I've started to blow it dry again and it seems to be doing better. I believe it is a cyclical thing going on. It may start up again or not.
I love my hair too. It is hard to stay cheery when before my hair was one of my best features, but I would n't trade the weight loss for the lost hair. I will just hang on and pray that it doesn't all fall out.
If it does, a friend of mine has a great website where she gets really nice wigs that are attractive for around $30 to $45 each. I'll have to look up the address for you and hopefully we will all be like her and wear it everyday, because it is so easy to take care of.
Well, hope I haven't scared you to death with talking of wigs...it was more of a joke then a reality for me. But it is an option too. Who knows, I've always wanted to know what it was like to have black hair...lol!

Mine is bad as well. I have tried a lot of different things, but nothing really works. I am hoping it stops soon. However, I am so pleased with the results of this surgery I am not too upset about the hair loss.
Topic: Sunday's Gym
Good Morning from the Sunny (HOT HOT HOT
) state of Maryland. The trip here went real well. We made it in 6 1/2 hrs which was great time for almost 400 miles. My sister is doing pretty good. I almost brought her to the ER yesterday, though, because she was coughing up some really gross stuff & was experiencing shortness of breath. I called the on call surgeon & explained to him what was going on. I told him I was concerned about a PE (pulmonary embolism), he advised me that it would not present itself the way her symptoms were presented. He said basically it was most likely from the fact that she was a smoker pre-op, combined with the anesthesia her lungs were kind of in shock. He advised for us to get a thermometer & monitor her temp. as pneumonia would not be present without a fever. Her husband went and bought a new thermometer & thankfully, she didn't have a fever. She did say she kind of had a rough night last night, but spit up alot of stuff around 5 am this morning & felt alot better. Hopefully, that crap just keeps moving & clears up. I think that's alot of her problem with not feeling well.
Anyway, I got up this morning & got on her bowflex treadclimber. I did a little over 1 mile. Felt good to move. Weight wise...I was 182 this morning
............ Yup, I brought my scale with me
......... Well, my sister asked me to, she wanted to check her weight. She'l losing like 2 lbs a day..... Don't we all miss that phase of weight loss????
At any rate.... Hope you all have a wonderful day.
((((HUGS)))) &
Tammy
