Bless your sister Tammy! Go**** seems so long ago when we had our new baby pouches! I remember those first days so well. I am reliving them today. Remembering what I ate those first days and comparing it to what I eat now. Big difference! Give your sister big hugs from all of us. We are here to support her too! Love ya, Lori

Hey all you lovely people! I am still on vacation but wanted to stop by to ask you to help me celebrate my one year surgiversary! Wow! I can't believe that it's been a whole year already! What a ride! I started out at 281 and miserable. I am now 161 for a total loss of 120lbs! Yeah me! I can't believe what a long, sometimes hard, sometimes easy, sometimes overwhelming, and definitely AWESOME journey this has been. I can't thank you all enough for the support and love you have given me over the last year. I definitely could not have done it without you all. I am sitting here in utter amazement of what I have accomplished. My original goal was to lose 100lbs and be wearing a size 12 by my one year appt. Well, I have met my goals and surpassed them. Loss of 120 and wearing a size 8-10!! My appt is tomorrow morning. I am going to be asking for a referral for plastics. I don't know if I will get it but I have to at least try. My insurance will cover a tummy tuck under certain cir****tances. I don't have the rashes under my panni but I do keep getting a rash, a smelly one, in my belly button. It folds over when I sit down and doesn't get any air to it. So it is always moist. I am hoping this will be enough but if not, I am willing to pay out of pocket to have it done. Congrats to ALL of us celebrating our ONE YEAR SURGIVERSARIES!!!! We have come a lonnnnng way baby! I love you all very much! And, YEAH, I love Donna's idea of meeting up in Vegas BABY! I'm in! Take care and CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES! Oh yeah, I borrowed that from our Lovely and Talented Ms. Tammy! Thanks Tam! Lori 281/161/140

Hi Tammy, Great job on the 3 mile walk. Guess what? My scale said 99 pounds this morning and I hope it will drop 1 to 2 pounds more by next wednesday the 30th. All of my pants are loose around my thighs and butt area, but up around the waist they're still alittle snug. I just had to tell you it makes me feel so good to see 185. Now I can't wait to see 170, maybe I'll see it before my birthday in December. Oh and next tuesday is Rolens birthday he will be 5(a big boy). If I don't get to post tomorrow you have a great weekend. Carolyn 284/185 today/ want to be 160.

Hey family yesterday was my re-birthday. I was totally excited about my surgiversary and I had been looking forward to this all week. I went in for my one year follow up and here are the results: Highest Weight = 405 BMI = 67.3 Super Morbidly Obese Current Weight = 230.2 BMI = 38.2 Obese (never been happier to type that in all my life) In the past year I have lost 174.8 pounds and over 60% of my excess body weight. My surgeons goal was 50% within this year....well I was able to meet and beat that goal . All of my labs came back perfect except for my iron levels so I have to take an iron supplement but I am not mad about that at all . This past year has been a remarkable journey that I could have never made alone. I am so thankful for my support team on and off this board. I want to say thanks to all of you for your constant support. Charloris

I haven't been on the boards for a while, really busy working. After a long day on the computer, the last thing I feel like doing is getting back on! But I have missed all of you! I also notice that I'm much more focused when I have your support! So congratulations to everyone and all that you've achieved in this amazing year! What a journey it's been! I finally joined the Century Club a few weeks ago! Of course, I promptly hit a plateau! Yesterday, I had my first dumping episode! What a scary thing! The pain in my stomach was unbelieveable-- worse than a kidney stone or childbirth! I tried not to panic, but failed. Called my Doctors office, who basically said wait a while, called my son to come home from work and my neighbor to stay with me until he got here. I was never so glad to in my life! It was a good thing though! Made me realize that I'm not invincible! I'm trying a new treatment at the Spa. It's called Ionithermie. Has anyone heard of it? It uses electrical stimulation and is supposed to break down fat cells, tone the muscles, increase circulation and lose inches. It was developed as a cellulite treatment. I figured it was worth a try to see if it would have any effect on all this loose skin I have. I've had one treatment so far and will have two more and then decide if it's worth the money (it's not cheap!). I'll let you know if I get any good results. If you want to check it out-- www.ionithermie.com As I told Donna, be sure to let me know if you plan a get together in Vegas! I've developed a mild gambling addiction. It sure beats eating! Of course, if anyone comes to Southern Cal be sure to let me know! Again Congratualtions to us all! Michele T

Congrats Sue--- You and I both had surgery one year ago today. It is kind of a funny feeling isn't it? I have lost 98 pounds in one year. I started at 237.5 and today was 139.5 = 98 pound loss. My life is changed to say the least. The self confidence and renewed zest for life is my main thing I am loving. Size 6-8 isn't hurting my feelings either. I unlike many people really hurt lots post surgery from my open RNY. It was absolutely no complications whatsoever but my body simply has an unbelievably low tolerance for pain. That was the only thing I was not prepared for because so many people kept talking about feeling wonderful and maybe a slight discomfort and I would read the boards and say--- They are either not telling the truth or I am just a really big baby. I made it through everything and now am 1 year post surgery. My husband of 42 years has become my chief advocate and renewed our love and deepened our friendship and he also seems to feel he fell asleep and a year ended up with a new wife in his bed. ( Now keep in mind he does not see all the wrinkles and hanging skin when the lights are out!) This is a very severe and dramatic surgery not for everyone but indeed it has changed my life for the better. I am so glad I am now a new person on the outside and a refreshed and happier person on the inside.

Congrats and Best Wishes! You have done great. We started at about the same point and I wish I had done as well as you. My anniversary is tomorrow and I have lost about 133 pounds in the year. I also have to deal with the military, but am out with a civilian PCM and all because there are just too many military in this area. Your story is good reading and pictures are great.
